Now that's more like it! KABAP indeed. :D

Better to join the Horde than live under the oppressive yoke of the BWB. After all, they are rebels and rebels thrive under the Horde. ;)

The Force is with Guyuk. I see "uzbek" has been decapitalized again. Or should that be decpitated? Clearly Guyuk is struggling with the traditional Horde side of life.

No province that has been rebel controlled can possibly be allowed to voluntarily join the Horde. The rules clearly state that KABAP must be applied to all new provinces - The Golden Horde Golden Handbook Golden Rules of Acquisistion Golden Rule number 5 sub-paragraph b appendix e 'KABAP must be applied to all provinces to be acquired through treaty or other means'.

The above is an example of the new Guyuk diplomacy. As the diplomatic tools (see below)

were already a sign of innovation, one must assume that the "Rebels" were, in fact, members of the Approved Banat Corps Diplomatique, or ABCD, that were sent out on an exercise with those new tools. Successfully completed, I'd say.

Corps Diplomatique sounds suspiciously French. What were revolting Frenchmen doing in Banat? With the long history between the Golden Horde and rebels, it is highly questionanble as to whether the Horde would allow any rebel to live long enough to say hello let alone "we want to join the lands of the Golden Horde".

Ok, that makes sense!

Duke of Wellington: ...Quatar...One more province for the empire

splendid ! ! that is more like it ! ! :)

Duke of Wellington: ...Banat...Welcome to the Horde

awesome ! ! we will take them anyway we can get them ! ! :D

hmmm, does voluntary joining decrease the likelihood of them revolting in the future ? ? ;)

magnificent update ! !

billy bob - Strange things have happened during Guyuk's reign.

GrimPagan - A fitting picture I think.

coz1 - That might make more sense if they weren't protestant, who are treated to the same level of tolerance as Shi'ites.

Mettermrck - The Horde certainly is back on course.

Deus - As in equal oppression for all?

Chief Ragusa - One surely must be suspicious of rebels who join under these circumstances.

nette001 - Hmmm, not a bad idea I think.

GhostWriter - Thanks. if only it did decrease revolts :(

Güyük : Part 10
Success had followed success for Güyük. With each the critics who called for his blood grew fewer and quieter. Yet still the Khan did not feel the urge to rest. Perhaps the few dissenters that did remain provided him motivation to strive further until they too were quiet.

And so it was that where a lesser Khan may have stopped and enjoyed the spoils of a successful war Güyük set in action his next plan, Operation Golden Strike. A squad of the Horde's elite Diplomatic Corps set forth from Astrakhan. Riding as fast as possible they headed north into the Russian Khanate without waiting for the usual formalities such as asking permission. Within a matter of days the diplomats were on the outskirts of Moscow.

The diplomats almost at their destination

At this time in Astrakhan Güyük fell victim to a severe bout of common stabbing. Responsibility for the assassination was taken by the lobby group u.A.N.E.T.T. (uzbeks Are Not Equal To Tartars) who claimed that Güyük's policies to tolerate uzbeks would bring Allah's wrath upon the empire.

Despite his shaky beginnings Güyük had more than proved himself to most in the Horde that he was a great leader. This led to considerable anger towards the u.A.N.E.T.T. and similar groups. Their membership and funding declined and ironically Uzbeks began to be viewed with slightly more sympathy by the average Hordesman.

In Astrakhan a great tomb is prepared for Güyük. Note that all hair must be kept tied back to prevent it being caught in machinery. One of Güyük's less exciting laws

As for operation Golden Strike it was well under way and separate from Astrakhan. Güyük's death would not affect it's outcome.

WHAT?!?! I should think not, sir. I think it's time for the other other operation...quelching once and for all the perfidous uzbek infiltration of the precious Golden Horde essence. It must be done and no better way to begin a new Khan's rule. That'd start out with a bang.

How traditional. Guyuk has died a normal Horde Death.

Uzbeks Are Equal To Tartars (U.A.E.T.T.) will show the hide-bound rebels how worthwhile an Uzbek can be (even when half-Swedish).The long awaited reunion ofthe Horde is about to begin. The Russian Khanate is about to rejoin the Horde. Let us hope that this Khan is less enthusiastic in stabbing himself than the Ottoman sultan.

Shi'ites are tolerated? Must have been one of Guyuk's less than less exciting laws.

Deus - Hmm, hadn't noticed that fellow. I think he may now be losing his head. At least then no more worried about hair nets.

Mettermrck - Thanks.

coz1 - Well with the reformer Guyuk out the way, it could be time for more oppressive policies towards the Uzbeks.

Chief Ragusa - Shi'ites aren't tolerated at all. They are minimised completely along with Protestants.

GhostWriter - Heads should always roll.

gis - Will do.

YAY GUYUK IS DEAD! Why couldnt he die sooner?

You spelt it wrong! Or are you just showing some sympathy? But uzbeks, despite all that has happened, should always be treated as a lower race!

Can anybody actually remember when this hate for uzbeks started? It seems so long ago...
