Congratimulations, stnylan!

All is right in the world! Congrats old friend. Always deserved.

The only problem with a comment from stnylan is that it is far too rare - a consequence of 'real life' and greatly to be deplored.

Congratulations, my old friend - you are one in eight billion, give or take a million or so.

It appears stnylan is currently unavailable to respond and/or nominate a successor. I'd like to suggest Specialist290 as the new Fan of the Week, if that's permissible. I've seen him bopping around quite a bit recently and it appears he has never won a FOTW before, so let's remedy that right now. :)

Assuming the nomination is valid, then congratulations Specialist290! I'm yet to have the pleasure of your company on any of my own threads, but I've seen you around and so can say without a doubt that the award is well-deserved. :)

Let's make it official; congratulations to Specialist290! I'm forward-dating your award, so you don't have to pick a new winner until 14 September.

Aww, shucks, guys... I'm honored both by the award and by the well-wishes.

I've been meaning to remedy that, actually; I just took a look at the first post of the CK2 segment of There's Not As Queer As Norfolk and remembering that some time ago I thought to myself, "This is good stuff, I really should get around to reading up on the rest!" Unfortunately, I seem to be rather easily distracted at times... That said, thanks for the reminder!

Well, it's getting to be about time for me to pass the torch on to the next Fan of the Week, so I'd like to go ahead and announce DKM as my successor. He's a relative newcomer to AARland (at least compared to us old-timers :p ), but he's been very encouraging and enthusiastic in every comment I've seen him make.

While I'm at it, it seems to be traditional for the FotW to make some remarks about the AARs they've particularly enjoyed (although the custom seems to have gone into abeyance over the past few weeks for some reason). There are several I could name, both active and long-dead, and even more I'm sure I've momentarily forgotten about, but I'd like to use this opportunity to draw people's attention to one that's started quite recently, Wave's My First CK2 Adventure: The tales of Jürgen Würstmacher. For someone who's new to both AAR writing and Crusader Kings 2 in general, he shows quite a bit of promise, and I'd like to give others here a chance to take a good look at it themselves and perhaps give the author a little extra encouragement.
