Arrrrgh!
I'm given to understand it's compulsory to express surprise at this award, something I can quite easily manage as I genuinely never expected it. I'm far from the most prolific fan and I don't stray far from the HoI2 section much, not without good reason and an armed escort.
Still as Phargle says I am loyal to authors I like and will doggedly follow an AAR once I start, so that perceptive bugger has once again done something unexpected but apt (if he keeps on being this multi-talented phargle will either become a true renaissance man or I will be forced to throttle him. Possibly both.)
The first AAR I started following was Allenby's 'British interests; British honour; British obligations', which had been going since before I joined and might hopefully finish at some point. My current favourites are probably Dr Gonzo's Stiff Upper Lip: A Terribly British History, Atlantic Friend's Crossfires and trekaddict's Against all Odds, any of which I can heartily recommend.
Like Phargle I'm surprised so many people posted their congratulations, that was even more unexpected than getting the award in the first place!
Finally I've got to pick a successor, I've gone through my AARs for someone who really deserves it. I've no idea how busy they are in other threads, and frankly I'm not too fussed because for me they undoubtedly deserve it. For the probably border line lunacy of still wanting to see the end of my first AAR, For King Haakon and the Fjords!, it has to be;
