My modding skills are low, but, without trying to sound arrogant, I do have an extensive knowledge of the time period, and consider myself something of an amateur historian. I know a lot about how the governments worked, and I have a good idea how most would react in a wide variety of situations. You can consider me a good source on both the Ottoman Empire and Germany especially.
 
Please count me in as well, though i do not think that we need a subforum. This mod is great and i do not want it to die. However, we are just a few peeps and do not know what sarmatia initially intended to do. So i hope we do not corrupt his efforts, if he ever returns. He has visited the forums quite often since he has been officially *gone*, but i do not know of his intentions.

I am glad ppl like Timotheos, who contributed greatly to this mod, are with us. Hopefully more will join, so that this mod prospers and we deserve a sub-forum :)

As far as i can tell, i do not know anything of event skripting/modding. I never really got into it, nor did i have the time. However, i will gladly do extensive play testing.
 
I have just tested the latest version of the mod with DD. first at all it works perfectly with DD except the AI who doesnt send any spy. But it can be fixed with a little tweaking :)

Hungary has so much potential in this mod thanks to the series of events. But the tech teams are still crapy and the army, leaders, aircraft divisions names too... (i mean for example the GANZ-MAVAG was one of the biggest corporations in the Dualist Monarhcy and in the HoI has a skill about 4or5, yeah it could be if hungary lost the war but not in this case and for the army names it's so funny that the hungarian divisions has romanian and italian names too :D but it's not Sarmatia's fault... i know the hungarian language is not one of the most spoken ones :D) so there is much to be done :) But playing as hungary in this mod is so much fun even more with the pure Hoi2 :)
 
Guys I have an idea. The mods will likely not give us our own sub-forum until we have a large team and also we have a .4 release at least. I know that we will deserve a sub-forum in the future, but we need to show the mods that we're in business. I plan on keeping the petition but changing it to people who are willing to contribute and hang around. Contributing can be from doing the entire German-Frankish Tensions chain to giving ideas or obscure mongolian rear admirals.

Does anyone know how to upload mods and if you do please tell me.
 
We must solve - minor works (awating Author) or next step of huge works on MOD - Germany, Commi, Russia... In second way we could loose author's already done features (if he has them)
I can't take own decision.
I think, we should write at least basic events' chain for syndicalist's union integration and activating new War.
 
I've been gone for a while (real life stuff...), so could somebody tell me what is going on? What happened and where is Sarmatia? Or is there anyone here who has ability and is interested to organize this mod? Is there something I could do?

basically, sarmatia left without notice, it's been weeks since his last post here. We worry that this mod will go down the drain, but we are trying to get something like a 'council' going.
 
If we can't get a subforum here there's always invision boards...

I reckon we should focus on these two issues;

Sorting out the primary event chains along the lines of what we know, i.e. how the 2nd Weltkrieg will start, bearing in mind Sarmatia's desire to have quite a free form kind of game where you're never sure what will happen.

Sorting out the USA event chains and situation so that the civil war really is a war and not just a few uprisings taking over the country in a few months...

With a secondary focus going on;

Making sure the content from ATR is integrated properly

Austrian event chains and Balkan situation

Chinese/Japanese theatre situation

General graphics, ministers, descriptions, historical stuff etc.
 
I just came up with an idea.
Is it feasible that the libyan oil is discovered, not in the 1950-ties, but in the 1930-ties? This can be explained by the general economic downturn in the Ottoman empire forcing them to find alternative sources of income, and that the Ottoman empire might be more interested in the possible natural resources of Libya than the italians in OTL?
 
Greetings All and Extreme Apologies for the lack of posting - Your efforts and capacity for self-organisation must be commended!

I've unfortunately had a huge amount of stuff to do over the past month, and am likely to continue to do so for the next few months (PhDs and associated activities have a tendency to creep up and take over your life, you know...). And so, as you've probably guessed, there's absolutely no time at my end for either posting or modding.

The council idea is brilliant - Syndicalism in Action! As well as Evans' ideas, what I'd also suggest for a next version would be:

* Integrate everything posted in between the last version and now into the game (as well as new stuff from last version of 'All the Russias').
* Write descriptions for existing events currently lacking them (eg. Balkan and Ausgleich ones)
* Go through the 'Files to be looked at' folder in the download, and integrate stuff in from there into the game files.
* Add some potential major war event-chains. Don't worry about these treading on any future plans -> Any events completed at this stage are good, and can always be made offset based at some point in the future to be less deterministic.

These shouldn't be too tricky to do, and could be a good way for people to start to learn to mod the game....

These all fire and work, but currently also lack descriptions (I can't remember if I had the Papal ministers in 0.3...? If not, these are done too).

The subforum would be a very good idea if this thing is turning into a more collaborative effort ( :) - I think I better sign the petition...) -> I wouldn't hold my breath about getting one here though, as I asked twice before (when activity here was much more intense!), but with no results (also see the current status of MDS, which has been going for longer, and still no subforum...).

And to make amends for my disappearence, I'll also host the 'Syndicalist atmosphere pack' that I put together a long long time ago on Rapidshare some time today, so stay tuned for this. And today I'll also take time out of my furious writing schedule to be available to answer any immediate questions on the above, or organisation ( :D - and receive abuse for my abandonment!)
