Storywise the Big Three will always remain dominant, with the Regional alliances as the Balkan Pact, Saadabad treaty, Japans Co-Prosperity Sphere or Catholic bloc on the second tier. There are some wildcards in the game, such as Russia who can either join an alliance or create one itself.

What are some other wildcards besides Russia? The main ones I can think of are the Republic of China and the United States. What an ironic world Kaiserreich is.

About the American Civil War: basically it is meant to happen, no matter what. There is indeed a bit of a hole in the coding that leaves a possibility for peace. Since some people like it to play the game as the States we left it in, but using this is a bit of a trick. We will not repair this little exploit, but we will not add more ways to avoid the war.

Russia is set up in a way it can have literally every type of government in the game ruling it. Depending on the chain chosing Russia can be either very weak or very powerful. Japan, although not fully fleshed out, has the same kind of potential. It can become democratic or go insanely dictatorial. We hope that the next update fleshes out the Japanese paths a bit more. Another country that can become either very weak or very powerful is Qing China. In Europe Bulgaria has the opportunity to conquer most of the Balkans, while the fate of Austria-Hungary fluctuates too. Austria can join either the Catholic alliance or the German alliance, whil Hungary can cooperate with Germany or Bulgaria AFAIK.
 
But why does it have to happen? It is just so hard to win the war as the United States. You basically have to use what ever infantry or militia you managed to build before 1937 to fight the AUS, which possesses several tanks, and the CSA, which has a ton of infantry divisions and militia, an the largest IC of all of the factions.

Maybe give the USA more infantry at the beginning of the game, or give the CSA and AUS a more balanced IC and less divisions.

But AI Qing is too retarded to ever become powerful :( (Altough in human hands they can become ultrapowerful almost instantly) Also the Austrian AI is very cowardly, just letting Hungary leave most of the time (at least for me).

It's called a challenge for a reason. :)
 
That tank-division I've seen gone bonkers once, but all the other times it has assaulted, and taken, Chicago, only to be cut of and destroyed, usually within a matter of days...
 
i'd have a question: how to mod the game keep running in this case: i play as AUS (Entente) Both France and Italy was split between Entente and ME. Austria liberated Italian Federation, so did i with Social Republic. But my Italians don't seem like alive: they don't make troops, neither tech research.

As for France, no events fired, so i manually gave the provinces to National France. Nothing happens, they don't send troops home, don't have an event. How could i get the issue fixed, with France and Italy AI waking up?

Hey guys,

I've played KR using JSGME on my old computer with windows xp for a long time without problems. I've recently upgraded to a new computer with windows 7. I downloaded JSGME without a hitch, but can't seem to open it. Whenever I try to I get a message: Windows can't open this file because it doesn't know what program to open it with. I was wondering if anyone here has encountered this problem or knows what program to open JSGME with. I appreciate any help.
