heh, i didn't quite mean that provisional government would survive for 20 years, what I ment was that the october revolution didn't take place, or worked out only partly, and the Constitutional assambly that was working at the time only manages to enforce the Status Quo and failes to go into full democracy, as, it would seem, they wanted to. that would mean having unique state of lower, regional level quasi-anarchy and higher level democratic regime.
I just find this situation extrimely interesting and speculating of what would happen with such a bizzare creature in 20 years even more :)
A simple thing to do to spice things up in Russia could creating Soviet Russia in some corner of the Russia, as Soviet Russia could possibly accept peace with democrats, because at the time it was widely believed that world-wide revolution of prolateriat will start any second. so having peace with capitalists is ok, as they will have a revolution in no time anyway. and democratic forces might accept division of country because of being too weak to win. well, in real life bolsheviks managed to be strong enough to kick everybody. Anyways, United Democratic Soviet Russia sounds good :)
EDIT.
Found that Constitutional Assambly declared Russia democratic federal republic in 1918, few months after revolution, soon after they were dismissed. anyways, thats what they wanted Russia to be.

Sorry for OT, but I think I've seen a mod for Kaiserreich that concentrates on Russia. "All the Russias" or something like that. Do you know where can I find it?

Its not a mod 'for Kaiserreich', because it doesn't have much more than it. In fact, its only the Kaiserreich part that involve Russia, so you have an almost regular scenario with a Russian set-up that is almost like Kaiserreich's.

the idea of a provisional government lasting for 20 years is certainly interesting :D i covered this at college last year, and cant remember much which is quite disturbing but didnt the october revolution take place after the reds weren't voted into power? in this timeline you're proposing who are you saying has won the elections to keep this delicate balance of power?
What the fuck are you talking about? the revolution begins when kerenski decided to continue the war and after the failed coup d'etat of Kornilov.

okay, i may be wrong, as i said its been a while since i covered it and i am not the fountain of all knowledge, in fact i didnt even get out of my chair to check. BUT THERE IS NO NEED TO BE SUCH A RUDE AND ANGRY PERSON ABOUT IT. The popularity of these forums is built on manners and lack of 'flaming', and i think you'll find people that regularly post as you do find themselves quickly banned.

Let's stop the flaming, and instead nag the modders to get off their lazy asses and give us a new version of this great mod

British Imperial is somehow right. If I remember it good, there was first The Revolution, when the Tzar announced his "resigment".It was then that Russia got herself out of WW1. But after that, there was an election held by the new government (vremennoje pravitelstvo or the temporal government) the bolsheviks lost it to the "socialist-revolutionary party" (srp), and made the october coup which was later named the October Revolution.

thanks for backing up what i said - i'm not quite sure any more what happened, i think basically what me and that rude person said was both right, just different parts of the same event. i didnt get a B grade for making stuff up, after all.

Mostly, but not quite, right.
The government, after the Czar's abdication, was a provisional one that scheduled elections to a constituent assembly. It did not, however, leave the Great War. Shortly before the elections, the Bolsheviks moved against the provisional/temporal government, and took over. As it turned out, the results of the elections were not to their liking, so they simply disbanded it.
Then they fulfilled one of their election promises: making peace with Germany.
So all the events you described, but not in the order you had them happening in.

As an unofficial note: The team is still working on the mod, but very slowly since most of us have RL work to do, but do not worry we haven't forgotten the Kaiserreich mod and our committment to it!

I can't say when a newer version will arrived, but suffice to say that it will be!

How to install?! Need Idiot-proof help (couldn't find instructions or readme)

How do I install this mod? What is JDGM or whatever? Whenever I have played mods for HoI2, I just overwrite the base hoi2 directory, but when I tried that I get a lot of db mismatch errors. Does it go into a separate directory or what?!

Thanks

i'm so sorry. next time someone is really rude to me i'll just let them get on with it. i was acting in the exact same way i would act towards someone who said that to me in real life. i dont think you'd like it. had he said 'what are you talking about' i wouldn't have minded. i just hate the way that on the internet people think they have license to act how they please, just because they think their opinion is right and you arent talking face to face. as i said before, i like these forums because, on the whole, people are polite and you can have a discussion without swearing and being offensive to other people. i'm sorry if i seem oversensitive, but i have a thing about manners.

That was after the october revolution.

I'm Sorry, but in Spain and other countries around the world is a colloquial way of speaking.

while that may be true, i've never seen any of the other non- native english speaking people on this forum say that. i accept your apology, however, and lets forget it.

bugs on launch

Hi,

I still don't know how to install this game. I tried Hoi2-Doomsday, Armageddon, then Arm. 1.2 patch, and then the mod by copying it over everything in the folder OR by using JDGSM (which seems to do the same thing). When loading the scenario I get two db errors for sicily (something about province controlled by 2 countries) and several db mismatch errors. Then during play as the USA, the civil war events never fire. Which is why I wanted to try the mod.

thanks,
