Got a problem with Russian naval leaders. I do not know if it's a DD problem or a Kaiserreich problem. Anyway, what happens is that some naval leaders have 6-7 army/air traits instead of naval traits. Someone mucked up on the integers somewhere I believe...

Sounds like the code for the traits is faulty. I'll look at it. Can you give me a list of the faulty leaders please? That would save me a lot of time.


Check Norway.txt, it's full of dubious use of "set_domestic" commands instead of "domestic". Some events seem right as they are, but someone should really take a closer look at this.

Are there any Austria victory events in the game?

I was playing as the Austrians, and when the Monarchy event came up I choose the one where you would centralize it in Vienna. Hungary objects, etc etc, brings up the country below it into war with me but Bohemia stays with me. I get a event to annex Bohemia, and do so, and I annex the other puppets it let me do. I quickly annex Croatia, and get a victory event, then fight off the Hungarians and annex them. Is there supposed to be a event that fires for this?
 
I'm playing russia, hoping to eventually reinstate the Tsar and reforge a Russian Empire. However, I'm finding out that they have trash for tech teams, particularly industrial tech teams. Will I ever get any good industrial tech teams? They don't start with a single one and it's making things way difficult.

Yes, through events; "Rebuilding the country" in 1937 gives you the option to wake an industrial team (the event gives you three options; either industrial, military or agrarian), while reconquering the Trans-siberian railway from Mongolia (there are events for that as well) will trigger an event that gives you another Tech Team with industrial engineering.

It showed an error message that this is not valid or something like that and when I hit "continue", it crashed. I deleted the wrong entries and the problem disappeared, but I don't really feel comfortable with this solution. I hope the game doesn't crash again.
 
I think there might be more set_domestic problems scattered around - in my last game Iceland had events that allied it to UoB and from the event names it sounded like a socialist party won an election

except it was a social democracy
 
im playing with the Kingdom of Spain.. i ban Carlists, and they continue operations from Sicilie...

after a while it says : "Carlist Uprising".. gives me 2 inf. and says there's a civil war... but nothing happens... is this a known problem? (using Kaiserreich Beta3)
 
Yes it has happened to me to several times as well, some AI switch by event refers to a file that does not exist.

EDIT: Or wait, was that Don-Kuban Union? Anyway, definately a problem.
 
I went back to an autosave and it happened again - the error said it was on line 99 of the ukraine ai in switch file

It looks like the problem is at the end of the file, where there is the section on 'country_priorities'. I believe that section should be enclosed in a 'garrison' entry, as so:

When I tried installing Beta 3, it HOI2 won't start. Says something about excel file not found. I'll try reinstalling HOI and see if that changes it. SHould be DD 1.3a right?
 
I got it working except that everything has the vanilla name for the tags used. Some of them I have to laugh for though, Galcia uses gold coast? Not much of a problem since I don't think anything else is affected.

Is the commune of france supposed to have lebrun and saarat or whatever there names are as leaders though?
 
Yeah, the tag-thing isn't a bug. It's just something unchangeable. And the CoF minister-thingy is being sorted out.
 
On closer examination, mussolini and the king are in charge of what should be the Italian federation, and there are a bunch of nazis in Imperial germany. I really don't want to re-re-install HOI. Did anyone else have this problem besides me?

Edit: oh s@#! DD doesn't work agian...

I have a suggestion for Ukraine.

That would be to either it's IC by quite a bit or to make it's AI prioritize building factories the first 2-3 years or so. This is because the Ukrainian AI because because of the enormous quantities of energy and metal in Ukraine and low IC wastes a lot on just piling up huge amount of these particular resources, not even trading much of it away. Ukraine can easily reach like 40-60 base IC's by 1939 making it a pretty powerful nation, think events should also simulate it's entry into European politics as a influential nation.

Or you could simulate Germany's exploitation of these resources on Ukraine's expense somehow.


And considering the Russian techteams I can tell you I have had enourmous troubles keeping up even when having all those extra teams, I am lagging heavily behind in some areas, I believe all that enormous dissent earlier in the game is what may be one of the causes.
 
Russia has "always" been a backwards nation, lagging behind in techs should be almost unavoidable.
