Here are some more Potential California leaders see this ZIP FILE

Harry Chandler - Minister of Propaganda? Was publisher of the LA Times from 1917-1944. Ant Union, Anti Hiram Johnson, possibly involved with murder of union activists, not convicted, involved in corruption and political scandal, LA Times offices bombed by labor activists. His son Norman took over the paper in 1944, the Chandler family was powerful in California for over a century starting aftyer the US Civil War.

Friend W. Richardson, Republican Governor in the late 20s, also member of many secret societies, templars, masons, etc was a Quaker

James "Sunny Jim" Rolphs, another Republican Governor.

Frank Merriam, last Republican governor during depression

Donald Douglas, Aviation Magnate, head of Douglas Aviation, tech team or air minister?

Gerald K. Smith, American Nazi, perennial candidate for office, demagogue, some activities based out of Los Angeles

Oooh, many thanks - these look like exactly the right sort of people. Chandler sounds great, and could even be a possible HOS/HOG...

EDIT: Ah, and of course - Randolph Hearst was from California as well! He has to be in there somewhere...

EDIT II: Which also means Orson Welles needs to be someone's propaganda minister - what were his political views?

EDIT III: Aha, slightly lefty, and producing pro-Union plays initially! So, he could possibly become Syndicalist America's Eisenstein, producing epic works of propaganda like 'Citizen Kane' - the story of a Detroit labor activist's heroic role in the Great American Revolution of 1936...!

Just stopped by to tell everyone here how much I love looking at what you're doing here, can't wait to play this mod :)

Unfortunately I got two very important tests in the next two week and for that time I promised myself not to get too carried away with HoI2 *g* But afterwards I'd really like to help out a little more here :)

Immediately jumping out at me is the possibility of giving the Germans the chance to accept the new Japanese backed Philippino Government, but demanding naval bases (eg. a couple of islands and coastal provinces). This would fit in with prior German policy in the Far-East, eg. only taking strategic areas and relying on local governments to do most of the actual 'ruling', and would have a precedent in the German recognition of Japanese overlordship in Manchuria.

Good idea. Wish I'd thought of that. Might go back to the events myself and see what I can do.

One thought on the events. I could write an event so that if Germany conquered the Philippines (or puppeted it) it would pass control over to the AOG (except for the afore-mentioned naval bases).

Also, I've been meaning to ask, what is the 'cheat' you use to view the province id's while in the game itself?

Well, as a possible minister in an alternate alternate timeline  here is Upton Sinclair, perennial crusading Socialist reformer candidate for office, he ran for Senate and Governor in California unsuccessfully . . maybe a possibity if the Chandler government gets couped/conquered - liberated by a nation on the left . . .

Aha, goodgoodgood - The West Coast is becoming interesting now, rather than just being a vague democratic filler nation!

Okay cool - in two weeks time there may actually be something more playable that needs extensive testing anyway...

Yep, AlgOstAsien control sounds good - especially as I wouldn't mind lifting them out of 'vague, German-puppet' filler nation status as well!

The cheat is F12 to get into console, and then 'showid.' Checking over the map, I'd guess Germany would want Batam (1738), Palawan (1735) and the whole big southern island whose name escapes me (1748, 1749, 1750). This would be enough to guarantee the routes to China, New Guineau and the Pacific

There's also an Upton Sinclair. And a Charles Chaplin.

Incidentally... I can't really download this mod to try it out and look at what you've done because my internet connection is through someone else's computer.... but I have a question about the Second U.S. Civil War.

Will Texas be one of the potential combatants? Or is the tag used for a more comprehensive movement, like the syndicalists or America Firsters?

Here are some more West Coast/Cal leaders and tech teams ZIP FILE

Will California include the Pacific Northwest? If so, then you have Boeing . . .

Also reminds me - I need lots of potential Habsburg and Austrian dukes and nobles to fill out the minister files of the Austro-Hungarian states. The Hungarian file looks reasonable, as most of its ministers seem to be aristocrats anyway, but the Austrian and Bohemian ones especially need something of an overhaul.

Some stuff i drew up real quick:

Eduard Freiherr von Bohm-Ermolli - Chief of Army - Static Defense Doctrine, Chief of Staff - School of Mass Combat
Godwin Brumowski - Chief of Airforce - Air Superiority Doctrine
Benno von Fernbrugg - Chief of Airforce - Army Aviation Doctrine
Franz von Keil - Chief of Navy - Indirect Approach Doctrine
Archduke Eugen - Chief of Staff - School of Fire Support
Michael Hainisch - Chief of Security - Compassionate Gentlemen
Alois Fürst Schönburg-Hartenstein - Chief of Intelligence - Logistics Specialist

Austrian Archdukes / nobles:

Archduke Eugen (would be one of the most senoir Archdukes)
Archduke Josef Augustin (son of Franz Josef)
Archduke Josef Ferdinand (son of Franz-Josef)
Archduke Rupprecht (son of Karl)
Alois Fürst Schönburg-Hartenstein
