Well then, when I get some time later today I will cook up a set of flags, shields, counters if no one beats me to it. . . .

France I can understand (they've lost all of their resource producing colonies...), but Japan has no resources? The only thing I can changed with them from the vanilla setup was getting rid of their Pacific possessions...

This may be because I deleted all of their starting trade pacts from the Vanilla game, in which case these would have to be re-done as well - in line with the different international relations setup, of course!
On normal, my industry ground to a halt within 4 months. I was able to operate at about 75% of my ICs with massive supply trading, but that severely cut down on my production ability. The original resource amounts and locations were tailored to the original history line. With the introduction of a radically different history line and provence ownership there are probably going to be a number of countries suffering from resource problems

Russia has been explained (I should put the Russian land-doctrine situation in BLOCK CAPITALS somewhere!) - and the 'Texas' issue is known about too - I only remembered to change the name to 'American Union State' in the module...
I figured as much, just thought I'd mention it on the off chance that you actually managed to over look something

Is there any way to get like an eventchain "drawing" for us to see?
I'd like to see what options i have for example for the US elections and
whatever happens if i choose to follow a certain path.

If it's too much work, that's fine, but i do not want to play again and again to find out what happens when. I also seem to have a savegame problem, the last time i checked i could not load a save i just made :(

oh, and at the beginning i have another error message, but i think not the one you got fixed, do yxou have that, too?

Italian Federation has a distinct lack of resources (even though their IC has been cut due to the split in Italy and because they have no African posessions)

Energy is at -60, metal is also down and oil is at +6 (giving them a little problem in redressing the blance).

Thanks for pointing this out - looks like a load of pre-existing trade deals are needed at the startup - Everyone, keep this sort of information coming in, preferably with values!

Hmmm, this does probably seem down to relations and therefore ability for countries to trade resources easily. So, either Japan needs some more province resources, or some more friends...

The event-map would be tricky, as the US election events aren't really linear - but I'll see what can be done...

With the savegame problem - does the loading process just stop at certain point, or does the game crash with an error message?

And please please please always say what the error messages are and exactly where they come up - This helps no end in working where the problem is!

EDIT: I've found the culprit of the 'minister = tag' error message - Karl Kautsky didn't have a job, so was causing trouble...
(To fix the problem, go into 'db\ministers\ddr.csv', and change the two 'HeadofGovernment' entries to 'Head of Government')

The political stuff looks very interesting, a whole new concept added to the game, I'll keep my nose out of it, since you know far more on how you want to organize it, I can propose some events and type them up so you get the jist of what they mean.

For tech trees, perhaps only Land should be changed.

I'll continue working on OOBs, tech teams and other random stuff tomorrow or late tonight.

Yes, I am in complete agreement!

And anyone who does not believe that Zeppelins are amongst the coolest things ever devised, must go here: http://www.dhm.de/lemo/objekte/video/zeppelin/index.ram - and remember that in this timeline they're going to be one of the main modes of long-distance transport!

What are Zeppelins going to be game-wise though? I'd guess they'd consume less oil (?) and have a longer range (?) than aircraft. Possibly higher ORG (can "stay out" longer?) and even attack (greater payload) but much more vulnerable to fighters?

Either:

1) Small ones to act as reconaissance for fleets (probably as brigade attachments, if possible...).
2) Big ones, to act as (slow-moving) intercontinental bombers.

Both would be a bit vulnerable, so would probably need some sort of naval/fighter escort though...

i can only imagine recon blimps, as one shot of a bullet should set the whole thing to flames. *cough* Hindenburg *cough*. Btw, does anyone know how high these things can go? if they can reach heights up to 10-15 km, they would be even suitable for largescale bombings. However, these things gotta be huge and might not prove to be very useful (very big -> easy to spot -> easy to shoot -> uberexpensive -> a bomber can do better, can it?)

Although, you might want to make Zeppelins like flying fortresses, psychedelic parallel world 1920s style (aka sky captain or the Kirov design of Command and Conquer Red Alert 2) :D :D

The Germans realized how fragile and ineffective the Zeppelins were, hence they built A.E.G., Gotha and Staaken big bombers to do the work, since Zeppelins were incapable. Zeppelins are naturally outdated for any sort of military work, its impractical and uneffective compared to bombers and the Germans would know that, as well as everybody else.

Maybe the Kaiser's minions can find a vast helium reservoir in the undersea city of the Cossacks . . . helium is a prime component in deep dive breathing mixtures . . .

Zeppelins might even get me to switch to sprites . . . or maybe not
