True, but it's free and I quite like the ability to keep track of the number of downloads!

I believe there may be a way of hosting it on the subforum, but I haven't been able to find the correct buttons yet...
Well now I'm really pissed off because whatever I do it tells me my download session is invalid no matter what I do :(

Hmmm - try clearing out your cache and deleting temporary files. This seems to work in some cases when people have problems with Rapidshare...

Rargh I've tried this in my other browser (Internet Explorer, usually Firefox) - doesn't work. Tried at other house - doesn't work. This is rather annoying me.

You might be able to use http://fileanchor.com - it has a maximum size of 20MB but if you use something like 7zip it might fit...

I wrote this days ago but forgot to post it. Sorry!

Welcome to Kaiserreich! As you've probably noticed, you're playing Russia, who is something of a 'special case' in regards to government, military, etc. In the first few years of the game, Russia will basically have to form an all-new government, which means that they lack a few features in the begining. First off, you'll notice you cannot research any Land Doctrines. After Russia's new government has stabilized, you will be able to choose a doctrine to research. You also lack some tech teams, most notably an industrial team. You'll be able to choose to focus on either military, industry, and agriculture later on in the game, with tech teams to match. Russia will also be able to reclaim some former Imperial cores later on in the game, so don't be disturbed by the lack of national provinces. Have fun!

You'll notice Russia lacks a few vital features at the start of the game, most notably the ability to resarch Land Doctrines. She also lacks cores on former Russian territory, and a few tech teams. This will all be given to you by events in the first few years of the game.

Made long and short versions. I'm very bad at condensing things.

Also, do me one favor: Name the 'okay' button on the event 'Slavsya strana, my gordimsya toboy!'

Question: Is there anything online about what syndicalism was?

Well, there's always Wiki, although a bit innaccurate (founded by Sorel, indeed!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syndicalism. Essentially, it was a form of socialism in which all political and economic power would be delegated to decentralised trade union-type structures. However, because of the big differences in the labour movements in different countries and regions, it tended to mainifest itself in quite nationally-specific ways.

This is a fairly good site with documents from the main American organisation, the Industrial Workers of the World: http://www.marxists.org/history/usa/unions/iww/index.htm

Here's a bit on the French CGT: http://libcom.org/history/articles/cgt-france/index.php

... and in Britain, with its traditionally reformist labour movement, things were more limited, with Guild Socialism probably being the closest approximation: http://william-king.www.drexel.edu/top/personal/wkpaps/gildf/gildpref.html

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not (but I'm thinking not). the LAT leader Bangerskis served with Kolchak during the Russian Civil War, and if Kolchak is still around then Bangerskis may have stayed on with him (as a corps commander) rather than return home to Latvia. I'm not sure which is more probably, so you could just flip a coin over it :p

this of course has consequences, if he stays with Kolchak, as he also has up to three ministerial positions in the LAT government

Hmmm, okay - Vladivostok might be bit out of the way for him to want to resettle in though!

Alternatively, is he (or anyone else...) a good candidate for a more nativist Baltic uprising against the German dominated government of the VBH?

I don't know off the top of my head, but this is a book called latvia in the wars of the 20th century (full text online). it includes a chapter on the latvian war for independence in '18-'20, so anyone who crops up there would probably be a good candidate for a Latvian rising against the Germany later on. also, virtually all of the Latvian generals took part in either the first world war, the latvian war for independence, the russian civil war or all three so they could all pretty much be candidates anyway.

Great Mod but is there any way to use the Tech trees from the CORE mod.

There could be a way of modding them in, although it may be a bit tricky.

However, I must admit, looking at them gives me a headache!

How do you install this for Doomsday? the first page instructions seem only geared to original hoi2
I used the same instructions and it worked on my Doomsday. Just make sure you back up the "db" folder!!!

It worked well. The only problem was that AI did not use intelligence (since it is not in the HoI2 AI files) but everything else is fine. Ai cannot effectively use intelligence anyway

Can I just copy my entire Doomsday folder into a another place and then have the vanilla doomsday to play whenever i want and the copied folder with this mod to run whenever? or will they interfere?

If you use the JSGME utility, you can switch from vanilla to any number of mods and back again just by clicking on a couple of buttons, and you can do it with just one copy of DD installed.

That is possible, if you have the hard-drive space.

The JSGME utility is still very simple to use though...

Where do i get the JSGME utility? (whats it even stand for)? sorry for the newbie questions. Is it packed with the scenario download. I noticed also that the skins are seperate and not in the same download how to i go about geting that. and do I need to be patched to 1.2?

* The JSGME utility is very much included with the scenario files download.
* Skins are downloadable from a seperate link on the first page - full instructions within.
* Patching up to 1.3b is needed.
