And I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but could someone please tell me what a "National Populist" is?![]()
Populism is "Power to the people!" Nationalism is, well, should be obvious. National Populism is basically "Power to the people's state! Down with the bloodsuckers ruining the prestige and morale of our glorious nation!" along with views like "Neither capitalism nor socialism!"
Y'know, Fascism. Only it isn't named as such because IIRC Mussolini in this timeframe never founded it, but the seeds were already planted pre-Mussolini.

“When we received Ribbentrop, of course he toasted Stalin and me—on the whole he was my best friend. (Molotov’s eyes twinkled) Stalin unexpectedly suggested, ‘Let’s drink to the new Anti-Cominternist—Stalin!’ He said this mocking and winked at me. He had made a joke to see Ribbentrop’s reaction. Ribbentrop rushed to phone Berlin and reported ecstatically to Hitler. Hitler replied, ‘My genius minister of foreign affairs!’ Hitler never understood Marxists.”

No, because socialism (in the Marxist-Leninist sense) calls for class struggle and a dictatorship of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie, while the petty-bourgeoisie (middle-class) are viewed as vacillating and unreliable. Fascism calls for an ambiguous 'struggle' against 'parasitic' classes (corrupt rich people, Jews, whatever is popular) and claims that the proletarians and petty-bourgeoisie (working-class and middle-class, basically) are both equally exploited by said 'parasitic' classes and must convert the state into one which serves the "people." And of course central to its philosophy is that the state is supreme, etc.

National Socialism (Nazism) claims that Marxism is false socialism. Nazism in practice is basically Fascism except it claims to be socialist whereas Fascists claim to be something above capitalism and socialism. The early Nazis supported class struggle, albeit not in a Communist way. Hitler purged the 'left-wing' (Röhm, Strasser, etc.) though after coming to power. Hitler, like Mussolini, was an advocate of a "national society" (à la Mussolini) rather than a class-dictatorship society like the communists advocated. (Though the 'left-wing' elements of the NSDAP also generally supported in the end a "national society")

Fascism and Nazism were basically meant to be the "fixes" for the "ills" of both capitalism and (Marxist) socialism.

I have a little question. When the Italian Federation unifies Italy, is the Reunification event not supposed to give the rest of the cores?
Also, may I suggest that you guys use an undefined nation tag to create a Monarchist/Catholic France, if you haven't already?

Hey guys. First of all, I LOVE the mod and I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into it. I've got a question that I need explaining, please.
I'm quite confused. It's June 1940 and I've been playing as the Commune of France. From what I gather from the event folder, the war should start roughly around April 1, correct? When I try to trigger the event (id 9445580)
it comes up with some event of Mexico invading the PSA or something (even though the PSA has been conquered by the American Union.) So simply, when does WW2 start and how come it's not starting for me?
Thanks for any help!
Under Fascism, capitalists still exist, they're just, in theory, bound by the needs of "the people." For example, government-recognized unions would engage in collective bargaining with corporations. If things went bad, the state would see this and negotiate between the corporations and unions for a settlement beneficial to everyone, etc. It was expressively against class conflict once it actually took power, that was the whole point of its existence as an ideology.
Under Nazism, it was... basically the same thing. It was a tad more centralized, though. With the exception of stated goals along with views on race and culture, the Fascists and Nazis in power were not much different, hence why people don't really distinguish between them that much. In contrast, in the USSR there were no corporations, there was direct government control and capitalists (bourgeoisie in Marxism) did not exist.
But yeah, look at those links I provided in my last post, should be enough info for you.![]()

MrDie, just a question--did you ever play a game called Space Station 13?
Fascism never rose in Italy, and National Socialism doesn't even exist in Kaiserreich, so that's why they're not in the mod. That explanation is simpler, I think.![]()
I'm having a problem with my syndicalist armies. When I play as Union of Britain or Commune of France, I can't assign leaders to my units. The game assigns a terrible faceless default leader to each unit I make and no replacements are available when I click on the leader portrait to replace him. Is this a common problem? Anyone who can answer this has my thanks!
wow. I just downloaded this, and loaded up the USA, thinking, hmm easy. yeahhh once the election rolled along i chose Long, and then i chose to arrest reed, and well....Lets just say within 4 months liberty had perished form this earth...![]()

Hey Kaiserteam, suggestion for new version of your beatiful mod. Do you plan to include some more 'imperial' music? German song in loby makes great atmospfhere for mod, can you add more Prussian marches and stuff like that instead of vanilla WW2 music? It would be great. German pre-WW1 marches, Austrian songs, international songs for Syndicalists, maybe some jazz for USA... just suggestion.
