    Many thanks - the one flag I forgot to get!

    I have temporary Qing and Galicia flags already from the Victoria Flag directory. so they're not a gigantic priority. But still, see if you can locate anything better...

    And Austria gets the opportunity to get the Sudetenland as part of the Ausgleich events - and Bohemia obviously gets the chance to disagree and fight to retain its territories!

    Greetings to all! Here you have the extraordinarily unplayable pre-alpha version of Kaiserreich. This has basically been released so people can see what has been done, and so can (hopefully!) give more extensive help, thereby getting an actual playable version out sooner.

    Since it really isn't worth anyone's bother backing up pretty much all of their game files to look at a map, I've packaged this thing inside the JSGME utility. To use, extract these files into your HOI2 directory, load up the application, select the 'Kaiserreich' folder, and move it across. The next time you run the game, all the mod and scenario files will be active. Reverse this process to deactivate the files, and return to the vanilla game.

    Oh yes, again, like ‘All the Russias’ you’ll get a ‘Scenario files have errors’ message when you load up the game. Ignore this, and everything will run fine. Again, eternal gratitude will be given to anyone who can get rid of this!


    What is here:

    * Complete province setup.
    * Basic OOB (needs improvement)
    * Diplomatic relations, alliances and guarantees all in place.
    * Cabinets and redone ministers for many countries.
    * Various graphics (load screens, flags, shields etc..), but still, many need to be changed or improved => I also have some skins as well from T-Hiddemen and LordAdmiral, but these aren’t included in this version due to filesize limitations (they take up about 35mb in total!)
    * Some events (eg. Russian events from ‘All the Russias’, and new Ukrainian and Ausgleich ones, but these lack proper descriptions; also American, Spanish and Balkan events, but these won’t fire as I want to redo them -> Remove the ‘#####’ in the ‘events.txt’ if you want to see how they work => BUT some of the Balkan events make the game crash, so be warned!!!)

    Already on the to-do list for the next Alpha version are:

    * Completely redo the German ministers file.
    * Get some better flags for many of the countries (so, please send any you have!)
    * Propaganda posters and descriptions added for all major countries (only a few done so far…)
    * Get proper cabinets and descriptions for the remaining major countries.
    * Add British, Canadian, French, Bulgarian, Turkish and Egyptian naval OOBs (I believe Berlichingen is working hard on this…)


    Giving feedback

    This is of course always welcome - However, to be extremely helpful, please make it as detailed as possible! The more info that’s given, the quicker these things can be sorted out (if not they’re likely to go to the bottom of a very long list of things to do!) – so if ministers, province ownerships or the like need to be changed, please try and give IDs as well, as this cuts the time taken actual implement these changes in half. And if you don’t like certain features of the setup, be productive and suggest replacements as well. Or (even better!) send corrected or improved game files....

    Ok, your comment about it being unplayable was pretty literal as it often crashes before the game reaches 2nd jan 1936...

    Perhaps it is the existance of stateless entities like German Socialdemocratic Party in the country list (on the other hand I couldn't find Bengal there ) or perhaps it is....



    ...ghost ships!

    Well, expected crashiness aside it is looking (and sounding ) pretty sweet. I would have wished that Mittelafrika would have an aircraft related techteam though...

    I wonder what happened with Argentina....did it swallow it's neighbours by force?

    I also took look at the Ausgleich events...WOW!

    Pretty complex.

    WOW! Germany has level V ships? Isn't that a bit too much? (At least in Vanilla level IV is the highest level ship availible at start)

    I'll look over the fleets to make better order of battles, but I don't remember ever having level V ships placed in the german order of battle, maybe a typo on my part or Sarmatian's part.

    Regardless, I'll comb it to make sure things look balanced and laid out well.

    Also I've completed more or less both British fleets, but I want to check the map for the distribution of its forces as well as possibly revamp some other OOBs I've done after seeing it in-game.

    Also, I will start plotting up an event chain that could, in it's extremes, lead into united Syndicalist Scandinavia or a Swedish rik controlling all of it!

    I'm not much of an event programmer though...

    Also, some of the country names are pretty long...have you considered using shorter stuff like "Socialist Germany" or "VBH"...?

    I know what happened, confusion that's it.

    In my say, SMS Kulm ---- Lvl II BB I meant the actual ship is level II, translating to Model 1, since Model 0 is Level I, but Sarmatian placed Level II, making everything + 1 level higher than it should be.

    Sorry Sarmatian, I can change the model numbers on the fleet if you want, or at least reference it to models for your sake.


    As the distribution of the naval strength, Germany in the Far East seems kinda week, I didn't realize they still conqueror new guinea, although I should have since it was a German colony before WWI. I may move a small squadron to new guinea to beef up Germany in the far east, they seem awfully sprea dout with two minor squadrons and a major squadron.

    The placement in Freetown and Suez is good, and the concentration of the German fleet in Germany is also good. I'll probably move a few ships around and send you an updated german.txt file with the correct models Sarmatian.

    After this I'll look over France, Italy, Ottoman, Egypt, Bulgarians and British and revamp what needs revamping and finish off my british and french OOBs.

    After all of that I can move onto the chaos that is Russia and Japan.

    I've decided that the german far east is sufficient, after looking quickly over British naval strength in the far east, british naval strength was even weaker than what the German is at the moment, so its fine.

    Did you add my italian, turkey, egyptian and bulgarian fleets Sarmatian? I can change those over as well.

    Yes, many apologies for the terrible last-resort upload site - 'Filelodge' wasn't letting me in, 'Savefile' had an upload error, and another one (can't remember the name...) was downloading at 6kb/sec on my 2mb ISDN connection - So, will be definitely looking for better sites for future uploads...

    Anyway, thank you for your evident dedication and persistance!

    Aha, yes that would be it!

    Also, have just worked out the crash is due to the German OOB - as a temporary to get things running past January 2nd, go into 'scenarios\kaiserreich', delete 'germany.inc' and rename 'copy of germany.inc' to 'germany.inc.'

    This will put the German navy back to my previous imaginary OOB with earlier unrealistic ship and fleet names and distribution, but at least the game will run!

    I added the Austrian and the Italian, but not the Turkish, Egyptian or Bulgarian (I was waiting to do everything in one go, once the British and French ones had arrived...)

    Here is my directory, the italian, sicilies and austrian inc files are also up with the correct OOBs, also I think I fixed some of the naval bugs, there were a few repeating IDs, and such.

    Anyways, if you want i guess you can look at my other stuff, but only things that concern you are the .inc files, once again overwrite originals in scenarios/kaiserreich
