Hyper inflation, unemployment and various ploitical groups running amock. This described during the great depression. Many germans had lost faith in democracy and most thought the ideas of the Nazis or the communists too radical. But then a group of people began to rember what life was like under the monarchy, how people had quivred in fear of germanys might and how only through chance did they lose the great war. So they started to encorage the restoration of the Kaiser.

kaiser wilhelm II

The kaiser had been living in exile in Holland since the end of the great war, forced out by the victorious french and british. MAny people began to agree with this idea and soon millions of germans began to demand that the kaiser be reinstated. The weak german government could do little and soon the kaiser came back to germany when he flew into berlin. The german republic abdicated and on august 31, 1930 the Hohenzollern Monarchy came back to germany.

The kaisers first act was to exile political activists who would oppose the new germany, such as many communists and the politician named Adolf Hitler who had attempted to take over germany in his failed beer hall push. The kaiser then began building up the german military, he expanded the navy and broke the unjust laws put on his nation that forbade them from having an airforce or any panzers. The allied powers did not seem to care, thinking that the kaiser could do little to them. They continued to think this even when on january 8th 1936 german soldiers entred the rineland. A protest from france was sent to germany but nothing more was done.

german forces entering the rineland

That same day the Kaiser began building over 20 new divisions. He also dismised the notion that he had posesed during the great war that submarines could do little and began building several new submarines. This expansion went on for months as soldiers were added all along germanys western border. The only thing that occured of any real concern was that on july 26th a civil war erupted in spain between the leftist Republic and the Spanish army now under fascist control. kaiser wilhelm did not much care for fascists but he did not want to see spain fall under communist rule, which was very likely, so he decided to send material and voluters to spain to help the nationlists. But despite german and french help the civil war reached a deadlock as neither side could truely gain an advantage. But kaiser wilhelm II had more important things on his mind. German had lost alot of territory after the great war and he began to consult his generals on how to get it back. They saw that one easy target was their northern neighbor. They began deploying their new divisions to the danish border.

Operation Danish

December 26th 1936

At 1700 over 100,000 german soldiers pored across the danish border. They met little resistance. One soldier named Gunther Drucker a Corparl in the 44th infantry division went through it all. Gunther crossed the danish border on decmber 26th. They made it all the way to Kolding before encountering any resistnce at all and then it was simply the local police armed with pistols and a few rifles, but they only held out in the police stations and the city hall.

Gunther broke a window on the police station and tossed in a grenade, he then jumped down and after 3 seconds the grenade exloded killing anyone in that room. He then signaled the rest of his squad and they rushed into the room. Gunther aparently hadn't killed everyone because a few shots from mausers rang out. Gunther came into the room and along with his men positioned himself around the doors. When the danish police rushed into the room they were killed instantly. They killed 14 men doing this and they had killed 6 with the grenade, so according to intelegence this station had 5 men left. So gunther had 3 men secure the bottom floor and the rest came with him upstairs. They procede quietly and unlike the danish cops when they came to a room they kicked in the door and threw in a grenade. This proved to be effextive because all 5 men were concentrated in one room and the grenade killed 4 of them. Gunther and 3 other men rushed in and saw the last danish cop and scremed "Hands up". The cop instantly put his hands up and hnas then ordred a private named Hans Schmidt to take the man to headquarters. Gunther then secured the police station and waited. After about an hour he got word over the radio that the city was secure. One of his men took out some schnaps but gunther told him "Put it away we still have a ways to go." and they did.
on January 2nt Gunther along with men from 8 other divisions landed on Copenhagen and bean pushing toward the danish capital. Now they came across the Danish army numbering only 10,000 men. They had the danes outnumbred 8-1 and the Navy and Lufftwafa was bombarding the danish troops. Gunther and his squad advanced under cover from artillery, naval bombardment and the Lufftwaffa. The danes had been bombarded for a while and due to their ill training and the constant bombardment, they had not been able to effectively dig in or prepare any real defences.
Gunther advanced against the danish troops on the frozenn ground. The danes had tried to set up trenches, but due although the cold weather gave them an advantage, they did not have time to make real trenches. After a few hours the danish troops had lost all orginization and began fighting simply as small disorginized groups of soldiers. The capital fell on january 6th and the danish navy attempted to escape but it ran right into a group of submarines, which destroyed them.

On january 10th a peace treaty was signed that gave the german empire most of denmark.

This was just the first step in expansion and again the allies had done nothing to stop the Kaiser. And although many danes formed a resistance against the German empire they could never take control away from germany.

stupid islands....well are u planing for an invasion of Greenland, and Iceland ?

Anti-Commintern pact

Febuary 11,1937

Diplomats from Italy and japan met the kaiser in Hamburg, Germany. There they met to disscus an act that would define their nations forighn policy. Every nation had seen the growing power of the Soviet Union and so Germany propsed that they take measures to quell this expanision. Initaly the kaiser had only wanted to bring Japan and other monarchies into this pact, but Benito Mussolini also sent a diplomat to the confrence and asked to eb included. The kaiser was slightly hestant but did allow Italy into the Anti-Commintern pact along with japan. The soviet union was very displeased with all of these nation but espechilly germany. The japenese relised this picture as an anti-communist propaganda effort.

  but remember kids guns are dangerous and arent toys...arrggg *get shot by baby with a gun*

Anexation and assimilation

In the early months of 1937 Many good fortues came to the Germna empire. On Febuary 3rd due to more and more coperation with the Danish people. The garrison had been 120,000 men (12 div) but on Febuary 3rd 9 of the divsions left denmark and were spread across the border. The mood of the danish people had changed so much that on Febuary 2nt A soccer game was held between the Best of Denmark and the Best from the German Divsions.

The game ended in a win for germany 3-2. The danish team vowed that they would be victourios next time.

Not long after The fascist republic of Austria was annexed into the German empire. MAny austrian had relized that the best way for them to be victouious was too aattempt to create a united german empire. Some die-hards fought against this but hey were quickly delt with and most of the austrian amy reported to the Kaiser henceforth.

Plans for the future

June 16 1937

A step forward was made by The German empire. On june 16th a non agression pact was sighned with the Netherlands. The KAiser traveled to Amsterdam and witnessed an enormous parade by the people of Holland. Many people of Holland were very sympathetic too the German cause. Relations with The Dutch nation were very high and after the non-agression pact it was rumored that The Queen Of Holland approached the KAiser about a possible alliance. Meanwhile the build up of arms and the updateing of old equipment continued. The New austrian units while numerous still held weapons from the Great War. Many of these units were placed on high priority for rearmement. Also several Fighter wings rolled off the assembly lines that very month along with a new submarine.

Backing down and building up

On August 31st 1939 plans had been drawn up for the invasion of Poland and the sebsequent new War with the allies. Preparations were being made for the invasion into poland but one serious issue emerged. Without the help of the USSR the German Reich would be dealing with the large Polish army by themselves. In the end The Kaiser decided not to invade Poland at that moment. The Polish government is relived by this thinking that they would suffer the same fate as Czechoslovakia, which was divided up with Germany getting the Czech half and Hungary geting the Slavic half. But the next day things hd returened to the european normality.

On December 21st the Age for the Krigesmarine began. The Kaiser attended the ceremony as did almost every high member of Government and the Military. It was the Commision of the KMS Graf Zepplin The German Reichs first Air Carrier.

Becuase of a misjudgment in sceduling the carriers Aircraft had been finished several months before. But they were ready to be deployed right away onto the carrier, doing tricks for the onlookers. Work also began on 18 new divisions of Moterized infantry and A strategic Bomber wing along with an Escort fighter unit. But 1940-1941 would bring many new suprises ones that would change the world.

I don't think "Danzig or War" still fires. Is it true you need to be National Socialist?

An Imperial Germany needs to have a different colour on the map - maybe Royal Blue or a nice purple maybe!

Enjoying this foray into this ATL
