Community Co-operative AAR

Is there anyone out there interested in doing a co-operative AAR, along the lines of the UK co-op one? I am quite interested in the idea and am looking for something to work on part-time until I can restart my own AAR. If anyone is interested please post here and we can decide on things like country and cabinet positions. I am willing to host (ie play the game) but if someone else wants to I am glad to let them do so instead.

No, the country is open to suggestions. I just meant that the game would operate along the same lines as the Uk co-op AAR. Sorry about the confusion.

EDIT: Btw, I usually play as USSR so my tactical knowledge is best with them. Then again, it might be interesting to take a crack at something different.

As it stands, he merely suggests something along the lines of the UK one, not playing the country. Count me in matey.

Can I suggest that we play as either America/France/Germany. Also what format will this be done in? RPing, OOC, OT and IC?

OOC = Out of Character
IC = In Character
OT = Off Topic
RPing = Role Playing (pretty much same as IC but for longer)

It depends what you want to do. Persoanlly I prefer informally conducting it.

I'd join, and I don't mind what country we'd play as. I think USSR could be a good choice but that's just me.

Well, I'd say be fine with making it informal discussion though leaving it open to some minor role-playing (like dressing up posts or assuming superfluous titles

) as long as it doesn't inhibit understanding or get too excessive.

Playing an AH France would be fine with me (historic France probably wouldn't be too much fun). If we do play as France I think we should leave the option open that, in the event of a defeat by Germany, the government can go into exile as Free France or we could possibly transfer to Vichy. Of course, I'm sure that it will never come up and the real question would be who get's the fuhrer bunker in Berlin.

France probably does have more options than USSR but I'm still open to anything.

Also, unless anyone expresses a strong interest, I guess I will assume the role of HoS and play the game. That done I will open the floor to job applications. We can start with cabinet and then, if there is sufficient demand, give out field commissions. I propse using the following system (borrowed/shamlessly stolen from Formula51).

Job Descriptions -

Hos/Hog - plays the game

Foreign Minister/Chief of Staff - makes recomendations of foreign policy and controls military planning. Air/Army/Navy plans are subject to his/her approval. Also makes recomendations about slider adjustment.

Armaments Minister - controls production and research. All militar build plans must be approved through this office.

Chief of the Army - controls ground forces.

Chief of Navy - controls sea forces

Chief of Airforce - guess

In addition, each minister gets the right to choose which minister represents them in game. Is this acceptable? If so, then let the bidding begin! (for jobs I mean)

Hmm, I'm not sure at the moment what you could do, as this is not a traditional AAR... I've got it. Barring any objections I will appoint you our Chief of Propaganda, responsible for bringing the country updates from the front. Now make sure that your posts are acceptable to the government so they don't hurt morale or endager security.

I'm very interested in this. Every time I see the UK Co-Coperative AAR I feel disappointed as to not getting in on it. I'd like to be something along the lines of Chief of Staff. Also, might it be a good idea to have separate people play the HoS and HoG, but only the HoG plays the game? The HoS would hang out and act like the King of England - Limited power but a great deal of influence.

I'm not sure about chaning the HoS like that, it would reduce it to a rather unimportant figurehead (like the monarchy in England). One possibility is combining the HoG with Foreign Minister/Chief of Staff to act like the Prime Minister, in charge of government affairs but the final authority still resting with the HoS. I think this would fit better as well if playing a country like France that did have a strong and functioning HoS in the executive branch.
