No, they didn't lose. They automatically stopped attacking. It's part of the AI. They won't attack unless they have a certain level of numerical superiority. Typically it wants 3:1 odds. Whereas you ordering Finlands' divisions around, you wanted them to attack 2:1. The AI issued a counterorder immediately.
