Weekly AAR Showcase: The Republic - A Central American AAR

I have the honour to choose for the next weekly AAR showcase. A lot of AARs made it a difficult decision, but as a historically interested I really enjoyed a HOI I (mod) AAR most. It can easily be read as a history lesson (albeit a bit biased), the author has put a tremendeous amount of effort into putting game developments into a historical plausible context and the considerations around in game moves read like real history. I know its not the first time the author is awarded, but after two years its time for a renewal

. My congratulations to Allenby for a wonderful read experience and an AAR that really shows what dedicated authors can do with a game report: 1914-1924 'British interests; British honour; British obligations'

Very well deserved Allenby.

I recently read all the way through this AAR, and it really is a tremendous achievement. The best battle (especially naval) writing I've seen here.

It continues to be an honour that people are prepared to grant recognition to an absurdly long story based upon an old computer game.

I am going to choose an AAR which takes the very concept back to its principles - a succinct account of how the author's game proceeded without excessive elaboration.

Sematary's Kaiser's Germany is based upon the 1897 scenario of the 1914 modification, which prompted me to take an interest in it in the first place.

So, well done - and I hope this encourages him to see the thing out to the conclusion of his game.
