Hi All,

In Creating Leaders
What is the Scale with regard to the following & is higher better etc. limits
Ideal rank year
Traits
Skill
Loyalty
Type

Any help welcome

You might want to look at this: http://www.hemweb.se/Leaders.aspx

For default leaders of whom little is known, we tend to give them no traits, a skill rating of 2 or 3 and a loyalty ranking of 5. :)

Do you already have the 1918-1924 Turkish army generals?(not ottoman, turkish revolutionaries) I can make a list and assign thier skills as well.

Mustafa Kemal should be the leader of the faction and chief of the army. I know he was in the ottoman army but after the new countrys establishment some ottoman generals should switch sides.(lots of them) So here's the military leaders and possible skills(you can change as I may be considered not objective because I'm not familiar with the skill system although I'm a veteran of HOI2 and the 1914 0.1 and I gave them from a max of 10)

Land Generals

Mustafa Kemal skill 10(definitely)both offensive and defensive doctrine

İsmet inönü skill 6: it was offensive on HOI2 but i disagree. he is a master of defensive doctrine. During the turkish independence war he won two defensive battles but he was never on offensive

Kazım Karabekir skill 8 : winter specialist and defensive doctrine. He held the eastern front and defeated the armenian republic despite the harsh russian winter.

Fevzi Çakmak skill 7 : offensive doctrine

Ali Fuat Cebesoy skill 5 : trickster, logistics wizard

Naval Generals(The navy was very poor and there were no more than a few ships)

Rauf Orbay skill 4 : no special tratis

No air generals because like the navy a few planes were made and they weren't truly planes. Most were total junk and the pilots who flew them were really brave.

I would also like to help with the turkish revolutionaries faction's ministers.

I agree with lees in this matter. Skill 10 is way too high for Mustafa Kemal. Halve the skills of all commanders and you may have a deal, though.

Did he not say he was rating them out of 10, not that he was suggesting 10 as the actual skill? :)

Using half (rounded down) as the actual HoI skill seems reasonable, although it would depend on rank too... basic HoI2 has a few skill-5 major generals, but I can't think of any offhand who start at a higher rank and still have skill-5.

In other words, perhaps Kemal should be a skill-5 major general as an Ottoman commander, but if he starts as a Turkish leader at a higher rank subtact 1 from his skill per promotion? How does that sound? (Obviously the same rule should apply to other leaders too). If his max skill is 8 (5+3) and ideal rank 0 he'll still gain experience quickly.

Actually, we don't have skill 5 leaders in the mod yet, and Mustafa Kemal has the skill 4 for Ottomans. With his excellent traits (logistics wizard, offensive and defensive) he is surely one of the best leaders in the mod. I suggest that we leave the same skills and traits for Turkey (this country will have TUR tag, I suppose).

We have a lot of leaders which start as Generals and Field Marshals with skill 4 in 1914 (von Hindenburg, Ludddendorf, Joffre, Brusilov, von Hetzendorf, Putnik, Misic etc.) and IMHO skill reducing for promotion is not necessary.

So I suggest these skills:

Mustafa Kemal 4
Ismet Inonu 3
Kazim Karabekir 4
Fevzi Cakmak 3 (we have the same skill for him in OTT list :) )
Ali Fuat Cebesoy 2 or maybe 3

These ranks are good and well balanced. By the way, Manstein and Ludendorf are not even close to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's strategic genius.(Maybe Manstein but not ludendorf) They're great generals too but i think from world wars only guderian and rommel could match his skills

Do I sense some sort of turkish patriotism/indoctrination here? :p

Patriotism, yes, definitely but not based on nonesense.Mustafa Kemal was really a military genius. But of course other than patriotism I think the greatest general besides Atatürk is Heinz Guderian to be objective.

Nevertheless. We cannot have a skill 10 general running around for balancing reasons. Skill 5 is a VERY good skill, compared to many commanders. Skill 10 equals something close to wielding the fiery hand, sword and morningstar of God and the Devil at the same time.

Hehe :) I can understand that. This is not a history sim of course a war game.

By the way skill 10 was out of ten not in-game ten

Can you Help??

I am interested in the mod for reasons associated with my studies on the Australian Corps of 1918... :p

Do you have a list of the AST commander skill levels and the significance??

Cheers

If you download the mod and open the australia.csv file in the 'leaders' folder, then they will appear before your eyes. :)
