I doubt that the Japanese were alone in suffering a high attrition rate during the development of their air service. Sometimes it can be difficult finding how many of these leaders died prematurely because they are often so obscure, so I expect that a great many of the air leaders in the mod are inaccurately portrayed in some respect.

I have added Tsukada and Yashuda. Tokugawa was already in.

Everybody had them, but the Japanese also did not have the combat pilots the Germans, Brits, and French did. No Red Baron or Rickenbacher to find as the Chinese were not the enemy at the time, Korea was conquered, the US and Japan were at peace, and the German Far East Army did not have planes worth anything. I could supply names of pilots that died in droves after a couple of weeks, but if you're looking for accuracy these guys never lived long enough to be higher than the Japanese version of Major or Lt. Commander depending on service and most were 2nd Lts. and most would have to be killed weekly after being in the game in accidents. Maybe putting together a generic name list might work an Ito Kurita or Jiro

Also came up with a couple of general and minister names for Korea.

F.J.H. Nienstead, served as chief military advisor to the Korean monarchy from 1899 to 1905. Trained and designed the Korean Army until the defeat and puppeting of Korea by the Japanese in 1905. Forced to leave Korea under the Taft-Katsura Agreement. "Retired" American military officer and member of American missionary group. Probably skill level 2 or 3, maybe logistics wizard or defensive doctrine as special traits. Supported Artillery as future of warfare and defensive strategy including trenches and forts to slow down enemy troops.

Charles William LeGendre, served as chief military advisor to Korean monarchy until death in 1899. Old School type, American Civil War Hero. Probably skill level 2 with old guard trait. Still believed in large upfront battles: line against line fighting and cavalry charges. Also member of American missionary group.

I can't think of the Schools of Military Thought right now so hopefully you can decide what they should be by the brief description I gave of their ideas.

The weird thing is yes I know that these guys are Americans, but many of the smaller nations of the world at the time seem to have at least a couple of American or British or German "advisors" who actually seem to lead the army rather than advise.

Well, even the Ottomans had Liman von Sanders for their army and Limpus for their navy. The Persians employed Swedes to lead their gendarmerie...

These sort of people, including the two you quote above, can be included as tech teams as well as ministers. :)

added a few more Qing generals...

Thanks. I'll get round to converting these additions to Wade-Giles soon.

Can you find a picture of Jung-lu/Ronglu? He was probably the most important general in China alongside Yuan and I have not been able to locate a photograph.

here are some new Mexican leaders....they arent in the proper fprmat and are not totally B/W, so you'll have to turn them into the right type...

If you didn't see my post, I'm offering my services. I'll make portraits and do research. You just have to provide me a list of names or pictures.

Give me a few days and I'll probably find you your Jung-lu.

I finished some of the Mexican pics, but I can't upload them. I usually just upload all my stuff on my Xanga, but it's not working right now.

EDIT:
I uploaded on some crappy uploading thing, so they're not in BMP. I'll sort it out.

Here's your Jung-lu. I found it on a Chinese-gov website.

Hi all, I've prepared some leaders for Abyssinia/Ethiopia, all for 1897 scenario (I should prepare also someone for the 1914 scenario soon).
Unfortunately, leader creation is too complex for my modding capacities (creating minister is easier), but I'd like to help posting here leaders' names, portraits, their indicative skills and service years.

- Menelik II
menelik_II_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until 1913
His majesty himself, highest of the graduates and fairly skilled. He rocks.

- Hapte Giorgis Dinagde
unknown.bmp
(no portrait, sorry) - avaiable since 1897 until end.
Very important general and war minister, should be strong.

- Mengesha Yohannes
yohannes_mengesha_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until 1906
One of the commanders in the battle of Adua, maybe should be a medium-graduated.

- Ras Makonnen
makonnen_ras_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until 1906
One leader commander in Adua, very important general.

- Balcha Saffo
saffo_balcha_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until the end of game!
A sort of immortal, hero of Adua, he serves in both italian-ethiopian wars. Should be low graduated, but high skilled!

- Wolde Giyorgis Aboye
aboye_wolde_giyorgis_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until end.
Another general, but I don't know much about him.

- Tekle Haimanot
haimanot_tekle_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until ???
Another Adua fighter, should be medium-graduated and not very skilled.

- Demissew Nessibu
nessibu_demissew_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until ???
Adua Hero (! they are a lot, I know), medium-graduated high-skilled.

- Khojale Al Hassan
al_hassan_khojale_eth.bmp
- since 1897 until ???
A Dejaz (lt. general), no much infos.

EDIT
updated all images, the previous img hoster was converting all images to png! now are standard bmp.
Also added sheick Khojale.
I hope that you'll appreciate this little contribution.

goro did his 1. paint-job ...

result: 72 Austrian Generals, 1 read_me.txt

to be found here: http://www.savefile.com/files/1362993

please chek if the are ok - my first painting for 1914.

I made a few notes about the Generals in the .txt - file. (I am using ver. 0.41!)

goro

PS
I run the 1897 - scenario. Don`t know if this is important.

Q.
Does the promotions have any influence in this game?

Thanks for your contribution. I'll check them today and every new leader will be included into the upcoming release.

Same applies to you: Thanks for your contribution. I'll check them today and include every new leader into the 0.42 release.
