Nggggh.
This, sir, is why people put links in their sig. So others can find their new AAR without having to wait for it to win awards.
Quite possibly congratulations, I tell you after I've read it, but on past form you almost certainly deserve it!![]()

Inevitable Defeat - Slovakia '44 - The award winning characters Tiso and Tuka attempt to save Slovakia from defeat and destruction. It probably wont end well. It definitely did win an AARland Choice Comedy Award. Now Back from the Dead and updating.

Congratulations!
Oh, wow. Now I'm just embarrassed. Thank you, demokratickid. I am deeply honored to be recognized in this way. When I was last given this award, I was in my twenties. Now I am 32 and not writing a comedy. Funny old world. . .
Thrones is something I've been wanting to write for awhile. The basic idea was in my head for months, and eventually I got around to playing the game so I could have a framework on which to hang the story. Considering how different it is from my previous offerings, I was afraid it would be received poorly, or that it would be lost in the noise of the crowded EU3 sub-forum. I was afraid that my readership in my beloved CK sub-forum would be left behind, too.
El Pip, I'm not very good at using my signature, I suppose. I put an AAR in it. . . you should go read it! As for Thrones, well, get out there, Fan of the Week.
Thank y'all for the kindness. I hope you keep enjoying Thrones. I'm having a good time writing it.
You're on a roll as of late phargle! Well done and well earned, it's a very good read this far.
Stand up, all victims of oppression,
For the tyrants fear your might!
Don't cling so hard to your possessions,
For you have nothing if you have no rights!
Let racist ignorance be ended,
For respect makes the empires fall!
Freedom is merely privilege extended,
Unless enjoyed by one and all.
Yes, a must-read.
Or Phargle will torture you around the forums with his witty comments.
And he does it anyway.
Very nice choice. Well done phargle, congratulations![]()

It means a great deal to me to have been presented with this award, and I am grateful for everyone's kind words over the past week. I hope you all read and enjoy Thrones, and perhaps even offer a comment or two, and I hope the story continues to be worthy of y'alls attention. Thank you, thank you.

And now it is time to hand the award over to someone else. There are many writers deserving of recognition among the (many) AARs I read, and a few truly exemplary works of art out there. It was difficult to choose a successor based on the choices I had before me. In the end, I decided they were all good, and picked the one that had never been celebrated for its goodness before. Without further ado, I would like to unveil the next WritAAR of the Week:
timetogetaway, author of the quirky and delightful The Mann on the Island.
Go check it out. It's a gem of a history-book AAR.
Gratz timetogetaway!
Like your aar!
