I PM'd Quintilian just after he was selected and he was looking forward to picking his successor. I can only assume something must have come up in RL as he has not been on the fforum for a few days. Let's give him until the weekend and if he has not returned, I'll pick someone else.
Well, we are at the weekend and still no sign of our recent WritAAR of the Week. A shame that, but sometimes that is how things work.
However, it does present me the opportunity to reward a writer and his work that have toiled countless hours on this board and deserves greatly to be read and appreciated.
For my choice, I picked a writer that is just now finishing up a longstanding AAR and in grand fashion too. His output in the last week is astonishing, also considering the Gal Civ work being done. For this recognition, I would like to pay tribute to and reward our great friend and outstanding writing of - Director.
Step on up to the podium, sir. It is well deserved!
And I'm very honored to be the first to congratulate Director for this most deserved award!

Wow. Thanks, coz1. This was unexpected, but I appreciate the honor.
For more that three years I've been pounding out the second 'HistoryPark' AAR, 'Here There Be Dragons', based on a game with Wallachia. It's been a long, long... long... long trip, and my readers have been faithful 'beyond the call of duty'.
At long last, that story is ended, or almost so. After reaching the climax I thought a brief epilogue would help explain a few unresolved things, so there will be two or three posts more before The End.
I can't tell you what a relief - and how very sad - it is to have this monster finally end. Anyway, if you'd like to check out the last few pages, the link is in my sig.
'Frontier' continues strong over in the GalCiv area and there is some hope I'll finish it before GalCiv III comes out (). 'Frontier' is being improved by salting it with a number of guest authors and it is a fast-paced romp through the wilds of a human-hostile galaxy.

Congratulations on the award, Director. It'll take some adjustment not to have regular HistoryPark updates in my life, but I'm sure you'll feel relieved that, in the end, you prevailed over the story and not the other way round.
