Poland's independence was at stake, the people feared one thing more than anyhting, the Soviets, they would do whatever it took to be free from their communist ways.



Marian Zyndram-Koscialkowski entered the first of the tri monthly meetings with a sad face.

"gentlemen, we can no longer ignore the fact that One day, the soviets will come and try to take back what they consider to be theirs, that is us, we must upgrade our military at once, we are a people who will fight to the last man, rather than submit to the commies."

The head of science stood:
"My lord, we have begun research into the Encirclement destruction doctrine, for i believe that although we may not have a large army, we can train them up to be something the commies will fear."

Marian concurred:
"of course, i am also calling for conscription, we must now draft soldiers into the army, the security of the state is at stake, and i advise that the armies are moved to the eastern border"

The head of the army perked up;
"but my lord, that would leave our borders to the germans open, that is madness!"

"the soviets are an unmatchable power, we must divert our forces"

"i propose we split the armies, send half to the west, and half to the east, should we start losing ground, we withdraw all forces to warsaw"

Marian pondered this..

"very well, make it so, is there anything else?"

The home defense minister stood up
"my lord, i believe we should construct land fortifications in Warsaw, if you intend to fall bak to warsaw if things go for the worst"

"very well, now be aware that germany is breaching her terms on the versailles agreement, we should be wary of them.
Well if thats all, i will see you all in March, goodbye gentlemen"




March 1936

Marian greets the commitee
"hello gentlemen and welcome back, we must now discuss the matters of the last three months, who shalt begin?"

The home security officer stood:
"The soviets have been building up heavily on our border, they have a larger army than us on our border alone, we must look to the quality of our armies above all else"

"I agree, next?"

"My lord, in february Turkey ceeded to the Soviets demands and handed Kars over to them"

"damn, the soviets grow stronger with every passing moment, next?"

The treasurer stands:
"my lord, we are a little over budget in the areas of Military conscription, and research"

"i will allow that, we cannot slow down or all could be lost"

the foreign relations manager handed in his report on important matters:
"My lord, The Netherlands elected left in their election, this shows that they are not partial to the national socialists, this is pleasing, we need friends to the west of germany, god frobid their whole attention should turn to us.
Also on the 13th of March, Italy's war with Ethiopia was over, Ethiopia was annexed"

"does that really concern us? our main foe is Stalin"

"well the italians have a similar out look to the germans, we foresee that the two may ally in the future, if italy gets stronger, then germany gets potentially stronger"

"very well, anything else?"

"ok then we will meet up again in June"

April 1936
BREAKING HEADLINES

Nationalist China and Communist China have put aside their differences and alled against a common enemy, japan.
It shows that there may in the future be hope for China to pull together as one nation once again and stop the violence.

June 1936

Marian welcomed in the commitee, at first they discussed the smaller matters within the nation, like the overcrowded schools, a vote is put forward to make education uncompulsary, but it is easily defeated.

Marian now moved towards the main factors:
"Gentlemen thankyou for coming, who would like to open?"

The head of the army:
"my lord, on the 16th april we completed training of several divisions of infantry, and as per orders we have begun conscription of more"

"very good, keep up the good work.
Now as you know men, we face a threat from the east, the soviets, in the interest of our freedom i proposed to start an alliance with germany"

"WHAT!!"
The head of foreign relations was struck hard by this, all things like this should go through him, and be won by a democratic vote, The head of state does not have that prerogative
"how dare you marian, you have betrayed us all!"

"i did it for the security of the nation, but fear not, the germans refused anyway"

The head of foreign relations stood
"i will see to it that you are placed on trial for this, and removed from power, you tried to sell us to the nazis"

"we must try all that we can to maintain independence from the soviets!"

The head of FR left with that, and after several minutes marian continued the meeting, to save face

"i propose that we send an offer of alliance to britain, to join the axis, it is imperative, who here is in favour?"

the majority agreed with marian and so the offer was sent, however just two days later the brits had responded by saying that an offer of alliance would anger the germans, and they would not risk that, so Poland was still alone, and the soviet presence on the eastern border now greatly outweighed that of the polish

July 1936

BREAKING HEADLINES

on the 18th march, the final step was taken in the breakdown between rival parties in Spain, an independent country has emerged in the north of spain known as Nationalist Spain, led by Francon, a right wing fascist.

The country is now divided in two, as follows:

The northern nationalists declare independence from the southern republicans

It must also be noted that the Nationalists attempted to capture Madrid in a bloody battle, but were routed by Republican forces, who currently look set to win the war, due to a larger army.

In further news, to due to making an undemocratic offer of alliance to nazi germany, marian, the head of state may be forced to resign, an offer of alliance is not illegal, but marians policy is one that we must join an alliance against the soviets, however
Marian did so without asking the committee.

September 1937
The commitee meets, led by disgraced head of state, Marian

"hello members of the board welcome to the council, are there any pressing issues?"

The head of foreing relations stood:
"yes my lord, as you know, in july spain was driven into civil war, and as yet we have not interfered, and i feel that we should declare neutrality in the issue"

Marian raised his hand
"I concur, does anyone oppose?"

"I do"
The head of the air force hated facists more than communists, unlike every one else on the commitee
"noted, but you are in the minority, we will remain neutral."

The head of the army spoke
"My lord, the republicans may not need our help, they are currently bigger and have a larger army, and on the 1st of september the republicans invaded burgos, that battle is huge, and is still continuing several weeks on"

"very well, are there any matters now that concernus directly?"
"yes sir, on the 25th august we completed training of another division of infantry"
"very well"
"also sir, the nationalists have re invaded madrid, and battle commences as we speak"

"i pray for the republicans, anything else?"

The room fell silent, everyone wanted to ask what would become of Marian, due to his undemocratic offer of alliance to germany, but no one dared to ask

Marian sighed
"as you know, i offered an alliance to germany, which was not a problem, as many people agree with me, but the problem is that i did not consult this council, i am currently being looked into by the high courts, but as for now i am still in charge for the next few months at least, after that, we shall see, now i will possibly see you all in 3 months, good bye"

Invade Hungary b4 they join the Axis and either annex them or make them become a puppet state. I suggest the puppet regime then when war with Germany comes you dont have to worry about Hungary on your southern flank.

cant invade hungary, population support is too low, plus im playin it in character, the poles just want to be free more than anything eles, they dread communism the most in this aar, hence the title.

I currently have a standing army of about 25/28 divs of infantry, 1 sub, 1 destroyer, 5 transport

You could play chead and relocate to the Americas. It would be cool to see a Polish Haiti/Dominican/Central America! Looking forward to the next update!
