Ok, finally I am able to run it. First impression is, that it is pretty full. But the problem seems to be the resolution. I run 1024 and cannot diplay the complete window, neither can I scroll the window.
Of course I know, that there is a lot of stuff to be included in event building. My idea to solve this problem is to use several pages/windows for different steps.

The functionality seems very good. I like how the different parts of the dialogue interact with each other.

I'll send you a PM with a link to my HoI tool, in case you want to take a look at it.

A couple of issues:

-The resolution. I think I'm in the same situation as Ilkhold, as I cannot diplay nor can I scroll the complete window.

-Can't select nor can I write any country tags, the program always tells me that it's an "invalid value".

-Missing a couple of commands, I noticed addcore and flagname but there may probably be others.

-The "AI event text" option makes the program crash.

Still, this really looks great, kudos for your efforts, and surely this will speed up event writing quite a bit once it's perfected.

->Ilkhold
Nice that you got it up and running. Finally :D Made a check for the missing file and noticed that it didn't get uploaded because it had the wrong file extension.
I will edit the post above.
But now you should be able to just download the updates.

->Resolution
OK, it was built for 1280x1024.
I actually didn't think that people still used 1024x768.
:rolleyes:
Added scrollbars as a temp solution.
The only time you'd need the fullscreen resolution would be when previewing the event and when having 4 actions.
So I don't see it as a priority to adjust the screen to 1024x768 just yet. It's crammed as it is.
Dont' like when programs have tabs or multiple windows when they don't need to because that means extra clicks.
I'm thinking of adding a button later on to deal with this.

Can't select nor can I write any country tags, the program always tells me that it's an "invalid value".
???
You are supposed to get a full dropdown menu of all available countries.
Why you get the "invlaid value" is because your entry doesn't match any that is in the list.
Try with a "country = xxx", but you should really be getting a dropdown list.
If you don't get one you should post which trigger or command you are using so that I can fix it.

Missing a couple of commands, I noticed addcore and flagname but there may probably be others.
Gimme a list of the missing ones. I got the ones I got from the list that comes with the installed events.
Then I have copy pasted a lot back and forth so there must be a bunch I've missed.
addcore=added
flagname=added
pop_militancy =under work
pop_consciousness =under work
pop_dominant_issue =under work
pop_cash =under work
convert_pop_type =under work
pop_ideology =under work

The "AI event text" option makes the program crash.
Fixed.

Still, this really looks great, kudos for your efforts, and surely this will speed up event writing quite a bit once it's perfected.
[irony]Still??? What do you mean still??? And what do you mean once it's perfected??? If I'd made it more perfect you'd have to build churches in my honor. :D :D [/irony]
For me it has speeded up things a whole lot. I'd say on average I can make 5 events in the same time as I used to make 1. Because I don't have to copypaste commands and triggers and I don't have to search for the province Id's.

Comming feature:
Adding a Help text for all commands and triggers so that after you have selected on the popup help gives you info about that specific command/trigger.
This should help newbie modders a lot I think.

No tags for me neither...!

maybe you can also add the option: ai_chance

scritp-example:
action_a = {
name = "Yes, i like default.ai"
ai_chance = 1
command = { type = setflag which = defaultai }
}
action_b = {
name = "No, everything should stay as it is"
ai_chance = 99
command = {}
}

A button to clear all, and to remove one trigger or command.

BTW, I run under 1024 too.

More people than you might think still have to use 1024x768 due to the age of their computers, and at work we are told to develop for 800x600 to ensure deployability. Better still of course to detect and adjust to suit, if possible!
(Try running 1280x1024 on a 15" monitor and see how long it is before you need glasses!)

Steve.

Already in there.
There are two clear buttons on the right side of each listbox. One which clears all and one which clears the selected ones.
:D
Haven't you downloaded the latest version?

->Steve
I know, I know, but it will take some work. So I have to think about how I want to do it, to get a good solution for everyone.

->Eric Lasalle
OK. It's in.

Yup, but the "full dropdown menu" doesn't seem to work (it's empty; and yes, the other dropdown menus all work fine), so.....

Try with a "country = xxx", but you should really be getting a dropdown list. If you don't get one you should post which trigger or command you are using so that I can fix it.

See above. And it doesn't seem to be the consequence of any specific trigger/command, as it happens even when just "filling up the list" from top to bottom (and vice versa).

[irony]Still??? What do you mean still??? And what do you mean once it's perfected??? If I'd made it more perfect you'd have to build churches in my honor. :D :D [/irony]

Certainly, can't deny that, but the result will be even better "when all the triggers/commands are added and all the little bugs are cleared", no ? ;)

In country_TAG.txt

You must add U00 through U19, those will be Upcoming new countries. I have a lot of events with U00 Tag. :(

New version.

Added U00-U19 to country_tag.txt
Added AI chance to actions
addcore=added
flagname=added
pop_militancy =added
pop_consciousness =added
pop_dominant_issue =added
pop_cash =added
convert_pop_type =added
pop_ideology =added
Also added the help function, but I will need some help with the texts...

Still don't have these resources:
canal_id
culture_tag
ideology_tag
invention_tag
party_id
policy_tag
reform_tag
religion_tag
workforce_tag

->Scythe
I have no clue what can be happening.
Try download the latest version and check the country_tag.txt file...
:confused:
Certainly, can't deny that, but the result will be even better "when all the triggers/commands are added and all the little bugs are cleared", no ?
Infidel.
;)

ideology_tag = socialism, anarcho-liberal, liberal, conservative, reactionary, communist

party_id = Let it open. it is a number, and it will be modded

workforce_tag = slaves, capitalist, aristocrats, clergy, officers, soldiers, craftsman, farmers, labourers

Later I will help you with the cultures and religion.

Well, it's hard to not be an infidel if I still can't select country tags yet....all other options (including others that also involve country tags) are working fine, it's just this one that stays at "None", and doesn't contain anything in its dropdown menu...

Now that I notice...the "None" is written with a different font/font size than everything else....don't know if that matters.

Just a little detail..isn't it socialist?

Also note that "craftsmen" and "capitalists" must be in plural form.
