Thread: Unnamed project (just tell me if you like the idea)

Arrow Unnamed project (just tell me if you like the idea)

Imagine that Rome didn't become an Empire. What could have happened?
I started to plan this scenario yesterday, and I'm asking you help for some reasons:
    - I'm a neeeeeeeeewbie.
    - I still don't have an accurate idea about how this will be (for example: timeframe, techs, and so on)
    - One can make a good scenario, 5 can make a better one.

I just made an eaaaaaarly map, where you've got:

    EAST:

    Bactriana
    Parts
    Persia
    Akkad
    Syria
    Seleucids
    Armenia
    Ponto and Bitinia
    Pergamo
    Bosforo
    Egypt

    and WEST:

    Cartago
    Numidia
    Tracia
    Dacia
    Greek Confederation
    Macedonia
    Illiria
    Etruria
    Rome
    Greek Dominions (southern Italy)

the green you can see in Portugal is Lusitania

I'll tell you more later if you want, now I'm going to eat

what year does this begin in? 1419 or earlier? if in 1419 i think that europe would still have been "discovered" as britain, germany, france, etc etc all had indigenious people during roman times. however, if it is before 1419 (i.e. roman times) why is islam a religion?

could be very interesting, although maybe redundant. i think others have made similar scenarios. i don't know for sure, though.

off topic time! what i would like to see is a roman industrial revolution scenario. in 200 - 400 or something some roman scientist invented all the parts of the 19th century steam engine but never put them all together! just imagine if someone came along and did. the world would be unimaginably different. of course, we could pretend that we have a good idea of what things would be like and make a mod out of our predictions.

Because I just renamed some countries and gave them provinces

I still have to make up my mind about almost everythin. I started to think about this just yesterday, so obviously I haven't done almost anything yet

Help and suggestions are more than welcome

I didn't know. Well, if someone knows something, tell me

About the OT: that's a great idea, but I have no idea about how you can handle some things like train tarnsportation in EU2's engine

i was thinking that you could just have a roman empire scenario start at tech 11/11/4/4 or something. the romans would have this, and maybe others would be close. i'm so unimaginative.

I'd help. Though, it definately needs refining. The idea has been proposed but never finished(?) When would the time start, though. (The dawn of the Roman Republic or something? or are you aiming for a later time.)

Nice to see that you are interested
About the time frame: I was thinking about a 100-??? AD, so 400 years after the constitution of hellenistic reigns. First of all we have to think about what could had happened in this 400 years without Rome; east's history remains almost untouched until 146 BC, but we have to plan the rest. What do you think?
