Erwin Rommel, former leader of the Free German Forces during WWII, was death sentenced in absentia by a German military court due to his activities of resistance against the French army in Africa, months after the total occupation of Germany. Refugee in Richmond, the Confederate capital, he was captured there by French soldiers then the city was taken. Repatriated in Germany, he was executed there for high treason.
CHAPTER 25: LIBERATORS OR CONQUERORS?
The French steamroller, who had made previous demonstrations in Germany and Russia, was once again impossible to stop. Welcomed in the Quebecer, Canadian and Yankee towns, who had previously suffered from the despising of the victorious Dixies, the French soldiers were quick advances: the only great battle during these months was the one of Richmond, where the Confederates fought tooth and nail against the Frenchs to protect their capital. But something was noticed during the battle: the oil shipments sent to American ports from Europe were not enough for all the armored divisions in North America, and thus the French Army was experiencing terrible supplying problems. Many tanks broke down on the Virginian roads during this period.
Latin America was another goal of the French Staff: the nations of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru, all democrats and allied in defence pact dispositive, were not concerned, as de Gaulle's policies were to not provoke the English democratic alliance. Instead, Prince Pedro Henrique of Orléans-Braganza, the heir to the Brazilian throne and nephew to the Queen of France, Isabelle, was contacted by the French secret services in order to take the Brazilian throne after the war; Pilnio Salgado, head of the fascist Integralist movement, was also called in the same idea.
The year 1951 begun on a brighter perspective for de Gaulle: Maurras was victim of repeated health problems, allowing the popular Marshal to take more power over the government. But it was also opened with darker perspectives for the French army: the Confederate Army had stopped her strategy of retreat and begun great reconquests in the Midwest and Quebec. In a grandiose and pathetic speech, king Henri VI called to the French Army units stationned in whole Europe to go to America in order to avoid a surprising and catastrophic defeat.
Using the new units as this, a new campaign was launched in the Caribbean Islands and Central America, just after the rallying of Mexico to the doomed Confederate cause...Which was followed by the hiring of the Götzen-Iturbide family, heirs of the Mexican Imperial throne...
