wasn't there also a north and south egypt? or had egypt allredy been unified?

Egypt in this age is an hellenic-egyptian empire, with greek rulers from the age of Alexander the Great. Cleopatra was the last of these hellenic rulers of Egypt. Alexander's empire was split into 3 great parts, and some smaller ones, after his death. The Seleucid empire and Macedonia are the 2 main others.

The time of those 2 egyptian nations you're mentioning is far more ancient. Before Alexander Egypt had been ruled by the persians, and other people has ruled Egypt as well. Egypt also had a rich golden age by itself, as a unified and glorious empire for many, many, many centuries, as we all know!

are these included in the game?? or are they a "hope to add list"?
I think it's a "hope to have" list.
IIRC there will be no Indian city states nor south african tribes. And some of the names mentioned are spelled in a very strange way:

e.g. Pergerum = Pergamon?

The groups don't make any sense: why have seleucids in the greek group and ptolemaic Egypt in Eastern?

I might be wrong, but didn't one recent screenshot show the Aedui (an important tribe in Gaul)?

If this really is a list of officially mentioned factions it is pretty sloppy work :p

I know how you could get all the factions. watch the EU:R video on Youtube, and when the diplomacy screen comes up, get a magnifing glass.
you'll do that, i don't have magnifing glass :D

Factions?

Methinks someone has played too much RTW and too little EU3 ;)

i think that the greek (hellenic) factions should be splited in 2.

Hellenic:
Macedonia
Achean Leauge
Sparta
Eprius
Boshporia
Pergerum
Syracuse
+Aetolian League, Athens, some colonies

and

Eastern Hellenistic Kingdoms:
Seleucid kingdom (syria)
Lysimachus kingdom (thrace)
Ptolemaic kingdom (egypt)
+(maybe) bactria, india

As for the italians: italian tribes ,i think, were called the non-latin ,non-greek, non-celt tribes of italy (etruscans,..)
Unified italians came after the 90 B.C. (civil war).

The name Italia is derived from a group of peoples living in Central Italy before the Roman conquest, including among others the Samnites and Sabines

Im a bit surprised at the low number of barbarian tribes included in the game.
