We pull out of Konigsberg. No way can we hold that, it would be useless sacrifice.

Current situation. The Germans haven't arrived in Konigsberg yet.

Despite everything, Tech research still goes on. MP = 158
09:00 May 9th, 1942
The Germans finally arrive in Konigsberg. Don't know what took them so long! Good for me though, has allowed me valuable time to reorganise and draft in fresh meat for the grinder.
03:00 May 13th, 1942
The Germans launch a fresh attack against the centre. Their tempo of attack is increasing sharply, this is a problem for me as they have more troops to rotate through an attack, whereas I have to rely on the same, brave, but untimately outnumbered, troops.
However, for now we are able to launch spoiling attacks and our own offensives.

We manage to defeat the attack in the centre, whilst combat in the other sectors continue.
21:00
And even these are successful! Huzzah! The glorious armies of the Republic roll forward once again!

We arrive in Konigsberg. The Germans throughout fed in forces piecemeal to try and stop us, but each was crushed unmercilessly.

7 hours late we arrive in Alytus as well. Things are looking up!
10:00 May 16th, 1942
The Germans are back in Konigsberg. Big style. MP = 161.
And that's your lot until after Easter! Have a good one.

Kongisburg's Infrastructure is going to be down in the dumps - and therefore a perfect place for you told hold them with counteroffensives.
Excellent updates. I just hope in the future the reds don't tank any of your land occupied by the Germans...

It seems like Kongisburg is becoming a new Verdun of sorts.
Really great AAR, but I'm just wondering if your re-re-re occupation of Konigsburg will end the see-saw battle
Konigsberg is turning into a Verdun of sorts, yes, but unfortunatly that is not really the tactic I am aiming for, given my very limited manpower. In a slogging contest Germany will always win, however Konigsbeg is a vital part of an reconquest, as it secures the left flank and provides oppurtunites to encircle the Germans to recapture Grodno.
Talk about a double edged sword - I can't really do wothout it, yet it is killing me to get it..

After a long defence, the troops are shattered and have to withdraw.

Konigsberg falls. Again.

An hour later, the Nazis assault the centre. Again. We launch counter offensives. Again.

Offensives succeed and fail, depending on the opposition faced. Grodno remains in German hands.

Alytus is assaulted again, after all forces are committed. How cunning! This time things look grim.

After a hard struggle, the centre collapses.
May 24th - May 27th
The Germans reinforce Konigsberg, but our armies march triumphantly forward. However the dead and dying litter the road, constant shellfire turning up the newly interned. Even the dead have no peace in Konigsberg.

No sooner had the exhausted troops arrived in Konigsberg, than fresh German divisions smashed into them. They stood no chance.
11:00 May 29th, 1942
The retreating troops arrive in Memel, encountering advancing Germans!

The troops just manage to hold on. For now. However, the army has suffered large losses, the Germans advance against minimal opposition, the Soviets are sitting on their collective arses. Things are going badly wrong. Mp = 170.

Nah - while his MP holds out I think he will manage to hold in a near constant tug of war over those border provinces.
Your MP hasn't been going down that much has it? I mean, 170 means you still have comfortable reserves, right?
