    Greetings Everyone!

My name is Ádám Kun. You can probably guess from my nick that I hail from one of those countries in which family name precedes given name – Hungary to be specific. I was born in that year of the Cold War when North and South Vietnam were unified into the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic declared independence, Mao Zedong passed away, Jimmy Carter was elected president of the USA, Apple Computer was founded, and the Eurovision Song Contest was won by the UK (I like this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Szavq0lrFtg). I live in Budapest with my wife and three children. Despite having children, I have never truly grown up: I still go to university albeit nowadays as an associate professor of evolutionary biology (I'm a biologist and a chemist by training) and I'm a true Homo ludens who spends countless hours playing various computer games.

This is where you can ponder your next move, where to build factories, move troops, where to seek allies or places to send under-cover operatives to.
If I had to summarize our goal for the map in East vs. West in one word it would be “authentic”. We strove to create a world map that looks like a map from an atlas, so that you will instantly recognize countries, regions, and provinces by their shape as well as their name.
