It's a normal event with PDM mod but it made me smile

The final sentence of this is the best vindication of any of my regimes Victoria has given me. On another note, the only colonial province I have is Crete.

What event is this?

I found PI's reference to HP Lovaecraft and the call of Cthulhu hilarious. It made my night.

I was actually able to read that image on my iPod Touch, but it's much too difficult to read on my computer monitor.

I tried getting it larger. Basically, New England gets a decision called "Miskatonic University". Any of you familiar with the Cthulhu Mythos will understand.

Here's a few fun ones:

Looks like someone didn't do so well in Geography class. (Actually, all of Egypt's starting territory in the Middle East is counted as Africa for some reason).

I don't really know how this happened, but believe it or not Siam has the 4th largest navy in the world.

And last but not least, this was mostly a matter of noticing the right thing at the right time, but it still cracks me up.

It's mostly for convenience of the programmers; if you look into the province history files, you'll find they're divided geographically. The devs decided that the "geographic" division would include geopolitics as well: thus, Malta and Heligoland are in the UK folder rather than e.g. Germany and Italy. Because the African folder includes the vast majority of Egypt, it was decided to tack on the extra bits, too.

Amusingly, the Russian folder is called "soviet" - which may be a relic from HoI3, I guess.

The real joke is when a single Cruiser destroys the entire Siamese fleet.

And last but not least, this was mostly a matter of noticing the right thing at the right time, but it still cracks me up.

Is the joke Socialist Pope or Great Power Pope?

Out of the hundreds of strange, ridiculous things I've seen in my many games so far, from an American owned Bulgaria, to Turkish China, to Peru annexing half of Brazil and Chile, and a really weird time that France ACTUALLY colonized the exact regions of French Indochina... the USCA ACTUALLY collapsing is the strangest thing I have ever seen.

Although as happy as this makes me to see it finally happen, I'm going to be disappointed later in the game not seeing the USCA and Mexico fighting over who has the best industry.

They may have taken Southern Secession too seriously. . .

Maybe no so strange, but that is the best AI formed CSA I've ever seem. Not sure how the Mexican concession became slave states as I was playing GB fighting off the 8th Ottoman Reconquest of East Macedonia, The Great North German Gang Bang (Defending NGF not participating) and slapping Russia around for trying to annex Korea. Saw the Independence pop up, scrolled over to take a peak and was amused =)

Sadly had to scrap that game as I did some region editing (split South Carolina of whichever state it was lumped with in vanilla, splitting Nevada-Utah and removing the cores for the British Dominions for a mod)

It really is kind of sad when something that has been said should be happening every game is actually a surprise.

I got a game where the CSA went down to Yucatan (I had completely annexed all of Mexico as the USA prior to the Civil War). Actually looked pretty cool :p
