			<description><![CDATA[What's your greatest defeat/downfall?

I think mine would be that I started as the Count of Lincoln, eventually worked my way up to being the Duke of York, as well as about 10 count's under me and also the Duke of Lancaster in all but name (King had the title, but I had the lands). I was the most powerful Duke in England at the time. Eventually my Duke died and his son inherited, but that's ok he seemed like a good guy. I get a message from the Count of Cornwall that he wants to make an alliance, so I tell myself ok this is a good thing, since it's nice to have an ally so close to home. A few days later the Count of Cornwall declares war on the King of England, and I accidentally included myself as his ally (many popups on the screen, I accidentally clicked 'yes' to it). So a long war happened, I lost men, the King lost men, and eventually it dwindled down to him stomping my dukedom to death and me screaming "I surrender" by trying to make peace, even throwing bags of gold and trying to give him many titles to my lands. I think it's a possibility that the King didn't like me much because I had a long war with him, whatever the case, my dynasty was destroyed.

			<title><![CDATA[Error (not sure why I'm getting it)]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[I've just added HAN, OLD and MEC back into the 1776 scenario because I didn't like the fact that Britain owned Hannover's provinces (and, for some reason, Oldenburg and Mecklemburg as well).

Anyway, I removed the provinces from 1776_GBR's owned and controlled provinces, and the actual provinces themselves at the bottom of the list of owned provinces (with pop levels, forts, etc.)

I've added them to the new states, double checked the tags, added them to both the 1776.inc file and the scenario file itself (which wouldn't case a crash anyway as it's only choosing which you can select to play as AFAIK)... and yet for some reason I'm now getting random crashes due to USA controlling a province owned by GBR (Montréal, which is historical) - but the game is telling me no one owns that province. I've checked three times now: Montréal is owned by GBR and controlled by USA.

It worked before the new changes to the German provinces, so I don't see why I would be getting this problem... :(

Anyway after this errror I get about half a dozen similar ones, then errors about CoTs and if I 'ignore' them all it just gives me a CTD.

I've added new states before, so what have I missed?]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[i've found a way to mod the tags as they are defined by the game.
it could make easier programing of provinces.csv in case of changing completely the names of dukedoms/kingdoms (for tag to correspond to the names given to provinces)

here's the method :
backup your crusaders.exe file is recommended
open the crusaders.exe in any hexadecimal editor (i used "hdd software free hex editor")
near the end of file (or research specific tag) you find the list of existing tag
so just replace the ones you want to change by 4 letter combination new tag
save & exit
you know have to search&replace this(these) tag everywhere in ck files :
-in scenario files
-db\provinces.csv
-db\countries.csv
-gfx\coa\XXXX.bmp (where XXXX is the modified tag)
-config\worldnames.csv or extra text.csv
-in events eventually if used
it is quite simple and it works

many other information can be tweaked this way (culture names, technologies etc...) but shows less interest i think]]></description>

Brothers and sisters EU3 players,

I hereby *challenge* you to overcome your pride and tell us about your grandest, most shameful even humorous defeats! Be it a single lost battle, a whole ridiculous campaign or anything that made you angry at the game, humiliated, batshit insane or simply forced you to reload due to your own incompetence (and not unfavourable events) :D I'm sure even veterans of the game have some very uncomfortable admissions to make :D

With that being said I'll be the first to admit defeat with a very fresh case from today. As westernized india in 1550s at tech level 11 I tried to take over Ireland who had no guarantees or allies. Their level was 17 but what the heck not a huge difference. Also Ireland had all provinces except Tyrone which was independant kingdom.

I made a fleet of 10 cogs :cool: and dropped my 10k indian archer horses there. I won the first battle with close to 40% losses :D I tried again and all I had left was 1k of scared horsemen. Meanwhile end of month hit and the irish were back at full 6k strenght :D 

I had only one option...

I ran around their 4 provinces calculating days distance to be able to escape - them of course, chasing me zealously. After a few circles I thought it would be a good idea to buy Tyrone's military access and try to rest and replenish there. 

That worked (after a few months) and after I made 20-30 cirles around Ireland with my thousand horses I stopped at Tyrone.

Then I took 10k muslim foot solders but had to drop them in France because Irish ships were blocking the sea. (Was planning to stay there until I figure out a plan for action) In France though I was attacked by pretender rebels who reduced my stack to 1,300 before I even noticed there was a battle going on :D

At this point I decided to try another attack in Ireland with the replenished horses. Pyrrhic victory again. At this point I was just hopelessly looking at the monitor realizing I have nothing left to do.

Aaaaaand I signed a humiliating white peace and went home :p]]></description>

I'm having ridiculous problems with my save files for my mod. After a few years the saves are all corrupted or fail.

Autosaves: After a couple of years they just don't load and blackscreen.
Castile: Have been testing with Castile. Save and load fine until about 1422. Error messages appear of 7 provinces either owned or controlled by a country but no controller/owner specified. Then a list of CoTs designated but with no owner (9 of them).

Looked up the first error entry in the save file: Province 32 owner by Maya but no controller specified. I started by looking at the province entry:

			<description><![CDATA[It'd be nice if Vicky 2 had some measure of GDP. Then you could compare vs other countries and chart growth rate. Vicky 1's Industrial score was useful for calculating a winner but rubbish at comparing relative strengths of economies.
Ideally you could have a breakdown of GDP contribution by sector with automatic graph production that showed your economy changing from an agricultural one to an industrial one, and if Vicky 2 has it to the service industry as well.
Mathematically it'd be quite simple to do, just add up value of goods made, plus (exports-imports)+POP spending+government spending. It could be done quarterly since day to day GDP wouldn't make much sense. Also I know nothing about economics so my formula could be completely wrong, but either way it would still be simple for a computer to handle.]]></description>

The Mamluks are level 15 and the declared war on me. So I assume I should be able to take them easily, but even when I outnumber them, they always seem to get the better of the battle. Unfortunately, they just built a stack of 60,000 that I don't know how I'm going to oppose. I have a bigger army but it's all over the world. Still, shouldn't tech put me ahead even if I'm outnumbered a bit? It always seems to when my enemies have higher tech than I do.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[Since I've been really enjoying CK for a very long time, I thought it was about time to explore other games by Paradox. But, I have some questions first. :)

1. From what I've been reading, it sounds like if you play a nation there will always be the same large historic events happening each time for the most part ? If so, does this hurt replay value for playing the same nation again? Or will it always feel similar?

2. Does the game's AI handle diplomacy well? Also, does in incorporate the "An enemy of my enemy is thy friend" type of approach too?

3. When someone says "a province is a core" does that mean that the core is what you started with, such as the original homeland of your nation?

Three years later the war ended in a white peace.
